As it's when I start next years Christmas presents shopping, I have already bought 10 presents yesterday at Asda,{Christmas jumpers} they were selling them off for just £3 & £5 each, then me bought me Christmas crackers they were being sold at 50p & £1 per box. Tonight me is on line at Next, John Lewis, Curry's & Amazon checking out their bargains Tomorrow I am off to ToysRus in the morning as they have Lego & board games on sale, then in the afternoon I am off to wilko's as they have 50% & 75% sale, then popping into the 99p & £1 shops as they are selling all their Christmas wrapping paper, Paper plates, napkins, plastic cups/forks/knives at 49p & 50p each.
I had intended hitting the online sales but as we will have no postal deliveries after next Thursday for the foreseeable future, there is no point in even looking.
Nobody wanted to after Josef had to retire but Meri decided to do it for some "pin miney" - the fact that she is so s-l-o-w therefore complaining about not being paid enough is because she IS slow. Last time she walked out because of wanting more money we were without mail for ages until the PO gave in. Whether she hopes they will give in again I do not know, but I do not think they will appreciate being blackmailed by her again. And from what I heard today in the macolet, nobody wants to take over. All she has to do is sit on a chair and put letters into the three banks of mailboxes. She is supposed to deliver mail that is too big or has to be signed for, plus all parcels but she says that takes too much time so she expects people to watch out for her and then go and collect them, only nobody knows which days and what times she turns up. So that takes her even longer as she has to go through everything for each person who turns up and of course she never knows where anything is, and there are usually at least a dozen people waiting for her to find their things. And by the time she has found one thing, found where the person has to sign - which sheet and where, more people have turned up and are waiting. If she arranged things properly she could do the work in a fraction of the time. A couple of times she walked all of 50 metres across the road to bring me a couple of things - and just threw them down the path. This is the result of one small carton from iHerb in the US, well packed, with everything so well wrapped - oh, and the carton clearly states Fragile, Handle with Care - which she hurled down the path. The carton was sodden, everything inside was ruined, and that bottle was so well packed that an elephant could have stood on it and it would not have broken. I did get refunded by iHerb because I took photographs of everything and sent them. I dread to think how much money I will be losing on things I have bought online and which are "in transit" because if they are returned as undeliverable I will not be refunded. But I do not care about the money - what is worrying me sick is the fact that I will not be able to get Pereg's special supplements and vitamins as they are not available here.
Sorry for the above rant and for going so off-topic - but apart from being worried sick about the mail problem, Pereg decided to give me a Christmas present by having a major violent Grand Mal seizure this afternoon. On my [fabric] recliner. Luckily it had an old duvet cover my neighbour gave me last winter because of all the mud she brings in, so that took most of the bladder loss. No loss of bowels this time but a nasty whiff of expressed anal glands which is still floating around. If she goes to form she will have another one, due in the middle of the night, which means the bed will be soaked again. She was only on Day 24 as well. SIGH
Are you still on watch, Malka? Did Pereg have any more siezures, or just the single one? I'm sure that you are disappointed that it was only Day 24 - how does this affect her possibility of her repeat liver function test? I know how it feels to count the days, as I have scored and recorded the presence of blood in Eddie's bowel motions daily for the last 18 months. Four days clear and I'm on absolutely on cloud nine, but four days of 'blushing' or 'spotting' and I get so downhearted - it is a recurring reminder that this happy and apparently vigorous boy, does is in fact harbour a serious problem. With all the cleaning, and Pereg's post-ictal munchie behavior, I'm sure you must both be ready for real sleep. Tomorrow starts a new count, let us hope it reaches much more than 24 next time.
No Boxing Day shopping for anyone over here as Hungary has been CLOSED since midday Christmas Eve and won't be open for business again until tomorrow morning. It'll be the same next week ... every shop will close at lunchtime New Year's Eve and won't open again until January 2nd!
@CaroleC - Pereg could have had the repeat liver function test after 14 sz-free days but I am still debating whether I want it done. If it is done and still shows a high ALT level the next step would be an ultrasound to see what her liver looks like - and then what? As Ram said, we will cross that bridge if and when we get to it. I am not going to put her on any more meds than she is already on, nor am I going to change her food to a "prescription" diet. So I wonder what the point is in putting her through another blood test and possible ultrasound. She is happy, she is healthy [neither Ram nor I consider epilepsy to be an illness - it is a condition] and she is showing no signs whatsoever of hepatic disease. In any case she has to go another 14 days sz-free before she can have another blood test which gives me more time to decide what to do. At the moment I am counting this as Day 1 but she has to go another 2½ hours before it really will be Day 1 as if she is going to have another one it will happen before then, however, luckily The Monster did not hit during the night. Phew!
Just quick coffee break got tons of bargains already, got another 23 Christmas presents so far, having quick drink before searching for more bargains
Just reading that leaves me feeling totally exhausted! Anyway even if Hungary was open for business today I wouldn't be doing next years Christmas shopping, 'cos yesterday when the family phoned to wish me a happy Christmas, my son told me he and my DIL will be coming to spend two weeks with me, next August, and my grandson will be over in June. I'm soooooooooooo excited 'cos its 18 months since I last saw them and from now on I'll be saving me forints so we can all have a good time whilst they are over .... can't wait!
Having read this article... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...les-online-shoppers-spend-519-000-minute.html ...and looked at the pictures, I think some people have greed for brains.
Did my on-line shopping last night as got extra 10% off if bought before midnight. Got new American fridge/freezer coming in New Year from ao.com £790 less then anywhere else x
Bloomin' 'eck Tina! Slow down! Forget about next Christmas - you're not giving yourself a chance to enjoy this one! I spent a very productive Christmas Day watching Carry On films. (I did manage to fit in cooking the Christmas dinner as well!).
If I was to go bargain hunting, it would mean my having to throw out half the junk that I've spent a lifetime accumulating, just to make space!
Same here. And the bins are all full and won't be collected for ages so I can't throw anything away anyway!
Typical "day after a seizure" - still rather post-ictal with the gimmee gimmee munchies and sleeping a lot, although as soon as I move she is up following me - probably in the hope of yet more food.
