Lets think there's a lot but these 3 I like best : "I wish it could be Christmas every day" by Wizzard "Merry X-Mas everyone" by Slade "Fairytale of New York" by Pogues
Oh where do I begin! Fairytale of New York, of course, Greg Lake's I Believe in Father Christmas, Chris de Burgh's A Spaceman Came Travelling. Jona Lewie's Stop the Cavalry, Sinatra singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and any Christmas song by Elvis or the Spinners. Hard to pick a favourite Carol. I've got several CDs of choirs like King's, Cambridge, and I've just bought a CD of old carols sung by a soprano accompanied by a lute. And - this will really drive my son bonkers - I've just ordered a CD of 1950s Christmas songs - all the ones I used to listen to on the radio, like I Saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus.
Janet you are cheating - you MUST find your favourite [or ten] on YouTube and post them for us. Please? Pretty please? Here is another of mine...
I can't do anything clever like that! I shall have to wait till a grown up is around to do it for me.
It be every so easy an' you do not need a grown up or a six-year-old eever. Just find what you want on YouTube, copy the wotsit on the wotsit address line, den click on 'ere where it sez Media and go click and post. I fink. Well I fink dat is wot I duz. I fink. Oh, and it is bucketing down an' De Dawg is refusing to go out.
Christmas songs are so tied in with memories of Christmas past. The Jona Lewie, 'Stop the Cavalry' track takes me straight back to marching round the sitting room with my daughter, and a couple of Cavaliers in tow. Like Janet and Tina, I don't know how to post videos, but this one really is so relevant due to this year being the WW1 centenary.
But not as bad as John Lennon's, 'So This is Christmas', which has just popped up on the viewer, and made my eyes leak.
I've had my new computer since May and still can't figure out how to use it. I've no idea how to post my favourite Christmas Carol which is on Youtube .... It's Les Petres singing "Il est ne le divin enfant". I went to a bilingual (French/English) school and every year this carol was sung at the Carol Service so whenever I hear it, it takes me right back to my childhood. .. .
Oh you've just awoken, 'Je ne crois plus au Pere Noel'! (Nina & Frederick). I hope I've spelt it right .............
