    I must be crazy!

Well, after enjoying my Pretty Muddy Race for Life. I have decided to sign up for a Spartan Race, I will be doing a Spartan Sprint which is 5k+ and 15+ obstacles. It will be in Allianz Park Stadium, it is the first stadium event that Spartan have held so it will be a surprise to everyone to see how they plan it out and the obstacles. Here is a video of one of their regular "non stadium" sprints, obviously we wont have so many hills or natural water obstacles in a stadium, I have also heard that they cannot do the spear throw or fire obstacles:

I will be raising money in aid of Shelter which is a charity that helps homeless people but will add sponsorship money information when I have it all sorted out properly :D

Fantastic! Best of luck with it - when will you start training for it? Or are you ready and able to take it on already?!

Shelter is a worthwhile charity - I also like St Mungo's, who take in the homeless and their dogs!

Oh God, I am nowhere near ready. I had an accident resulting in an ankle injury a few weeks before my Race for Life and I stopped running and pretty much all exercise in general and haven't started it up again yet, though I had a 5k walk/run this evening, plus the last few months I haven't been taking my thyroid medication which means I have piled on LOADS of weight and lost practically all of my fitness so this is definitely starting from scratch. I have always had a bit of problem with my weight and now I am finally going to do something about it, I am on my medication, am trying to eat better and am training for this. If I can lose a fair amount of weight and complete this then it will be a big achievement for me and hopefully a big change in my life.

Plus, if I get this done I am considering the Super Spartan in September which is 10k+ and 20+ obstacles which would be a good goal seeing as I can barely run now. Not sure if I will ever be able to complete a Spartan Beast which is 20k+ (12.5+ miles) and 25+ obstacles. But if I could possibly do that one day then that would be a big big big achievement for me, I think I should keep dreaming on that one for now.

Thank you Pereg, (and of course you Malka) I will get everything sorted out for that soon and share it around :)

If you think that video was crazy check out the Spartan Death Race, now that is mental!

I wish, but I have my lovely greybeard to go running with :)

I am half dreading dreading it, it is the first stadium event and they are thinking of making runners run up and down the stairs :/ I think it might kill me if I had to do it right now lol

Pepe Bogie and Chico are emptying their money boxes to see what they can come up with.

Are you in training yet? Diet will be particularly difficult at this time of year, with Christmas coming up!

Word of advice - if you are doing any floor exercises, don't attempt to do them with dogs in the room! I decided to do some abs work this morning, and as soon as I was on the floor all three came and sat on me and gave me a thorough licking. So my abs have remained unexercised today!

When does it 'happen' Katie? I've had a look back but couldn't spot the date. Will do the phone thing again, keep us posted on your progress.
