Thunderbirds are go - oops, I mean Tontoo and not Thunderbirds but that does not sound so exciting, does it. The delumptious one brought Tontoo's new batteries this morning and I had forgotten how zippy and zoomy he was because he had probably needed new batteries yonks ago. Anyhow, he is more maneuverable in the macolet than Xanadu as he is controlled forwards and reverse by either hand, thanks to his delta handlebars, which is great as Chai is stocking so much more things now so there are more obstacles to avoid/reverse away from. Actually he is probably more zippy as the new batteries, although the same size, are more powerful than the previous ones. They are only small and fit into a case which just lifts on [and off] the front fork, and are special gel batteries, not normal ones. While the delumptious one was here he checked The Silver Monster, and his batteries [bigguns] are thankfully fine, as are Xanadu's. Pereg was none too happy about him taking The Silver Monster's seat off, then the battery/motor cover off, thinking that he was going to hurt The SM - so did a pretend growl and air snap - all the time wagging her tail at him as she has known him all her life and knows that he is A Good Person. But she think that The Silver Monster is hers so he should have asked her permission first before touching him! So all being well, all three of my lecci wheelies are serviced and have up-to-date batteries - hopefully no more expense on any of them in the foreseeable future!
Oh, I'm all disappointed now. I thought the delumptious one was a real man. But apparently he is some kind of robot as you talk about him needing new batteries. Pleased to know he is now zippy and zoomy though.
No dear. The delumptious one is Doron and yes he is a real man. My fault for calling my wheels "he" so it probably sounded all mixed up. The Delumptions One, aka Doron, is a real man. Tontoo is my small foldable scooter. The Silver Monster is my Big Road Scooter. Xanadu is my lecci chair. But as my wheels all work for me I call them "he" and "him". Gottit? Oh, and my hair was that length until I took the clippers to it yesterday...
That's a relief then. As long as you haven't taken the clippers to the delumptious one and shorn those gorgeous locks.
I was sitting here cogitating and realised that everything started with Doron many years ago when I first met him, thanks to a newspaper article I had kept for about five months and then acted on - too long a story to explain - but I then contacted the person who wrote the article, who put me in contact with the person she had written about, who put me in contact with someone else, who put me in contact with Doron, who turned up with my first [2nd or 3rd hand road] scooter. An older [much] model of Tina's Harley. When I moved here from the half bungalow I lived in then, Doron put me in touch with someone called Boaz who built my ramp and the path in front of my home. And then with Yossi from whom I got my manual wheelchair and my self-propelling wheelchair. Doron also put me in contact with Nir, who built The Shack and has ever since done all things necessary both inside and outside my bungalow. Yossi put me in contact with the gang who built my ensuite. Nir put me in contact with Oren, the electrician, who does whatever electrical stuff needs doing [Nir can do it but is not allowed to as he is not a registered electrician whereas Oren is.] And it all started with a newspaper article that I cut out and kept and acted on about five months after I had first read it. Maybe 18 or 19 years ago now? Strange how the wheels turn...
Can I be brains out of the Thunderbirds pleeeezeeeee I know just how sluggish scooters can be when they need new batteries, but as I need lorry size ones for my Breeze 4, I wait as long as possible before buying new ones as they are £90 to £120 each depending on whether I have to 55amp or 75amp ones.
Yes, strange how a newspaper article or chance encounter can lead to so many things. If I hadn't bumped into someone when I was wanting to change my job, who put me onto a small employment agency who got me a job where I met my husband and where we met the girl who moved to Lincolnshire and who we went to visit and fell in love with this part of the country - well, I wonder what I'd be doing now and where I'd be!
Of course you can Tina! Tontoo is my baby scooter, max 6.5kmh [4mph] and he was the sluggish one. Well, sluggish when going up my ramp/path which is really too steep for him. His batteries have just cost me ~£232 for two small gel batteries. This is Tontoo http://www.tzora.com/product_13 Tonto had a silver frame, Tontoo's frame is metallic red, and he also has a basket which clips over the handle of the battery case on the front fork. His motor is in his front wheel. The Silver Monster is never sluggish even when he needs new batteries, but his are guaranteed for 3 years and cost a bloomin' fortune as do the two for Xanadu.
Love your Tonto scooter Malka, my indoor shopping one is called Mobie, folds up easy & fits in small car too.
