When in manual self-propelling wheels always put the brakes on when you stop. Ditto switch off electric wheels unless you are just waiting to cross the road or something like that. You would think that after nigh on 20 years of wheels I would have remembered by now? This idjit when switching from self-propelling shower chair to manual chair after a shower forgot. And landed hard on the ensuite floor on her bot.
Ouch! I hope you are well padded and don't have a skinny bot. Were you able to get up OK? Hope you're feeling OK - and at least the experience inspired you to poetry!
OK thanks, no broken bones or cuts. Just more bruises and and an arm nearly pulled out of its socket by grabbing the handbasin in the hope of landing easier. Not sure if it really worked though! No, definitely not well padded as I might have over-large boobies and belly but my bot is as skinny as my arms and legs are. Like a full term matchstick woman. I am always able to get up, even when I have smashed my head on the stone floor and half knocked myself out - you get used to it after a while. See - having a shower is a wee bit more complicated than, well, just having a shower. As I keep Xanadu well away from water for obvious reasons, I switch from him to Chair [with a capital C] who is manual and not lecci in my bedroom - go into the ensuite and switch from Chair to shower chair who does not have a name, then push Chair away from the shower [which is curtained] so he does not get wet. When done showering move curtains aside and wheel shower chair to Chair, who I have previously put towels on, and shift from one to t'other. But I forgot to put the brakes on shower chair so as I leaned forwards to grab Chair's arms... ...shower chair went backwards and I ended up on my butt. Thassorl.
Well if you have a skinny bot the solution is obvious - make sure you fall forwards onto your big boobies and belly and then you should bounce straight up again.
Nah - when I fall forwards is when I smash my skull and face! Which reminds me, I am still arguing with the hospital about their bill for my last little - ahem - haccident. [Not sure but as I had pressed my button and my emergency service, not that I remember doing so, had called for an ambulance, I think they paid for that. At least I have not, as yet, received a solicitor's letter for the ambulance fee.]
Oh Malka .... what are we going to do with you? Hope you're not feeling too stiff and bruised this morning. Sending hugs from us here in Hungary.
@Pork1epe1 - what are a few bruises amongst friends! But no, I will not post photographs of them due to where they are!
Eggsackerly how am I susposdid to take photos of the bruises on my situpon then? I do not have a "smart" telephone and my camera is just a camera, and in any case my nekkid bod is private, not for posting on open forums.
I have never been so grateful for the ultra expensive special cushion for Xanadu - I cannot even sit in my lovely soft recliner now, and do not mention the couch as that is definitely not bruised botty comfortable!
