Ooh, how exciting! :D Which one did you fancy - or did one pick you? And what colour are they?

I cannot wait to hear all about the one that will be your new baby SBT - plus loads of photographs of course and I am still not envious - just 100% jealous! :D

It's all happening so quickly! What age will the breeder let them go?

Please don't tell me the breeder is anywhere near Horncastle, because I shall start hanging round outside trying to get a glimpse of them and probably get arrested for loitering.

Janet to be honest I have been loitering and reading the threads for ages, and I have wanted another dog since our last one went to the rainbow bridge but work and life got in the way. So it feels like a lifetime to me (amazing how you can get broody for a dog as much as a child), but I saw these pups did my research and thought now is the best time for us now that I am not working, and do not need to (staying at home for the kids sake mainly).

The breeder is letting the pups go anytime between 8 and 12 weeks (whatever our preference is). I am undecided about when to pick her up if we buy her but to be honest I want to make sure she is here at the right time for socialisation without rushing her.

Breeder is in Norfolk actually, nearly 2 hours away from home but as I have found you have to travel to get a good pup and health and temperament are the only two things non negotiable for me. I was there for an hour at least last night with my youngest and husband. Both parents were there and all the pups were too. It was lovely to watch them interacting with each other and my youngest got a good wash from both parents kisses!

We are probably going to go with the calmer of the two pups. She is slightly less rotund than the other, and less bossy currently!!! (Subject to change I know). She is almost entirely black with a white flash on her chest.

They are all big boned and stocky and the smaller is no exception, just slightly less bolshy and greedy!

    Tomorrow!!!! Not excited, much!

I think we have decided that we will have the slightly less dominant one. The only question is what to call her?

Has she got a name yet?
If she had been a Lurcher I would have suggested 'Poacher', but it doesn't sound Staffy!

I think I'm nearly as excited as you!

Still trying to think of a suitable name. Blossom? Blodwen? (I had a border collie once called Blodwen!) I think it's easier to choose a name for a male Staffie for some reason.

CaroleC that name suggestion has given me the giggles...it is the 'nickname' of my husbands work.

Janet, we struggled massively with the name but her KC name is Eclipse so I think we are almost settled on Shadow. Although I am sure I will report back with pictures and announce another name once we have lived with her for a period of time.

    CaroleC and Janet like this.
Luna! Luna is Latin for the moon. "Eclipse" is the last track on Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of The Moon - so as her KC name Eclipse you should call her Luna! :D

Brilliant name suggestion! Did you come up with that because you are an expert on Latin or on Pink Floyd?

    Ladies, you have distracted me.

I spoke to my vet yesterday and she says that they do not accept payment direct from an insurance company, that the owner has to pay and then get reimbursed (here's hoping I don't get a 9k bill then!). Therefore I want an opinion on best insurance. I want lifetime, I was going to go with Pet Plan, should I still or could I look at alternatives like More Than.
