Is my dog a Malinois ? Questions

Hello, this is my first post. I just recently adopted a new puppy and I'm curious to know what he is. I was told by a few people he looks like a malinois, so I decided to ask some experts. What do you guys think? Most malinois is see have standing ears and my boys ears only stand when he's alone in the back yard... When I'm around they are back. Anyways, I thinks he's about 5 months since he has most of his adult teeth besides his canines. He weighs about 41 pounds. Any ideas?

im not sure, he looks almost like one. My brother has one that he works along with a few other friends and he looks like that but didnt have a smooth coat. Your dogs coat looks really smooth. Im going to look at some photos of spikey as a pup and see if his coat was smooth then.

even at 8 weeks he didnt have a coat as smooth as your dogs. But somebody has been posting about mally x pitbull pups. What country are you in?

Thanks. Those dogs look a lot like mine. I am in the u.s but I don't think he has pit in him. I have a few pits and some with pit x bulldogs. Here's a picture with him and a 5 month old pure pit and a 8 month old pure Siberian husky for reference

ive tagged you on the tread about the mallixpits so you can have a look. he just looks a bit smooth coated to me as i can grab handfulls of fur on my brothers and friends malllis. But maybe in the us they are a bit smoother, i dont know. Im no expert.

Hello, welcome to Breedia. I would say he is too short coated and too muscular to be a pure bred. I'd be voting with Katy, and suspect a Staffy or bully mix. I would like to say he's lovely any way - a dog to be proud of. Post another picture in a couple of months.

He was actually given to me for free. A man posted an ad on craigslist but there were 3 different ads claiming different breeds with the same pups. Some said German shepherd mix. Some said Belgium bandogge, and yet another claimed German shepherd mixed with Rottweiler. I honestly just thought the dog looked good. The only adult dog he had on premises was a huge black male mastiff but I doubt that's the father because he's too big.

I would say possibly Mali x Mastiff. He has a heavier set, smooth coat and the wrinkled forehead. Would you mind if I posted his pictures on a Facebook group, there are people on there that are great at working out breeds in a dog

I don't mind. I wouldn't it if he had some mastiff in him I just don't see it. Wouldn't his muzzle be shorter?

You have a gorgeous dog - I can see some Malinois in him but am pretty sure that is only a part of him. I am not sure what else I see except for a gorgeous dog!

Thank you very much. I took a few pictures a min ago of him standing next to a couple of my other mutts. They are about seven months and mongrels. He is the same size as the girl but heavier, and his paws are bigger than the boys (blue eye) and he is 57 pounds at seven months. So judging by the paws and his wide chest I'm guessing he will be a very big boy!

Any idea of the breeding of the other two in the picture? They seem to look a bit like American Bulldogs to me. My friend's son has one - it's absolutely mad!
