Thanks Malka! Our local shop-owners, who are big dog-lovers, gifted me a pricey Ribera del Duero, to thank us for our work at the centre, but as I joked on FB, I think it was just their ploy to get me habituated to supping a 16 euro bottle rather than the cheap under-3 euro bottles I usually go for
We're quite the sophisticates at the moment, now having a coffee-break bench And a few more newbies have come in to the centre
I like your pallet coffee bench and as for those lovely newbies - so handsome. But oh those puppies - I get so broody and they are sooo cute...
Thanks guys Things are taking off with the project. Not only has my entire Sunday morning been taken up with administrative duties concerning visitors but I've also been invited to do interviews, podcasts etc by numerous folks trying to draw attention to animal welfare. Might have to start shaving more than once a fortnight now that I'm an international super-star Now for the real stars of the show, including Frank, all the way from Germany and a freshly bathed Big Ronaldo!
Aww, that face in the first photo - such beautiful eyes! And I love the white huddle of contentedness
A round up of the week's events (and a new video) with some photographic and textual repetition for anybody who's been following this thread. Apologies! http://dogrescueholidays.wordpress.com/2014/06/30/dog-rescue-holidays-weekly-news/
New lad came in a couple of days ago. Got me thinking about having some Shepherds about the place (when I've got a few acres, obviously)
New Galgo in town Big Ronaldo, the prisoner, with bread and water rations Another of my favourites, this Pointer girl...and Bruna the Boxer
Happy news; this Galgo lad will be whisked off to Germany with Frank when he returns there on Monday after just four days in our centre. Gotta be a record for international jet-setting and Rascal, who seemed to be on his way out health-wise, right on the eve of his re-homing to Switzerland, has picked himself up and recovered fully (he couldn't even stand up in his basket three days ago) These blighters like to make you suffer, don't they?
Ah, the beautiful Galgo with the gentle expression on his face is off to Germany with Frank - safe journey to both of you for Monday, Frank! So pleased to hear that Rascal has recovered so quickly!
Got a slow connection so will get photos up later of a weekend of bathing 25 dogs before their big departure for pastures greener. In the meantime...cheers!
