I saw this on my FB and wanted to share it. http://bitecharge.com/post_wotties.html This maybe a bit judgemental but I thought is was common knowledge among dog people that any dogs can mate no matter the size difference. They can even mate through wire crates! How on earth does this supprise the owner if the dogs weren´t supervised when the female was in heat?
Yeah they are adorable. But I am afraid a new type of a designer breed is born And I worry if people try to turn it around where the rottie is male. But maybe I´m not giving people enough credit. I do that sometimes.
At my rescue home we had litter of of Great Dane X Chihuahua puppies (glad to say mum was the Great Dane) their owners brought the puppies in when they were few hours old, needless to say rescue home manager had go at them for removing puppies from mum. They said that the "mum" was only 10 months old & only had one season "heat" & the "dad" was only 1 year old, their excuse was we didn't think he get her pregnant, when we saw them "playing together" DUH We took their Great Dane off them & re-united her with her puppies & then when the puppies were 14 weeks old, we very reluctantly handed the Great Dane back to her owners we did have her sprayed first, we don't like spraying large/giant female dogs until they are 18 months to 2 years old, but in this case we knew if we didn't the owners would be back in 9 months time with second set puppies, we told the owners that they will be getting unannounced home visits to check up on both dogs. As cute as the puppies were it took us until puppies were 6 months old to rehome them, as they had lots of health issues.
I remember reading that story in the Mail Online back in December "Wotties" and posting it on Dogsey http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?p=2764407#post2764407 "Where there's a Will[y] there's a Way"
