I'm not sure why I do, but I do Well when I get time anyway. Mo is funny - she can't act to save her life, but that itself is quite endearing lol. I think if Dot leaves it will be very sad - she's been there for so long now...
I have not watched it for years as although it is shown on BBC Prime [I think - they changed the name to I do not know what] we used to get it at a logical hour three times a week and then they changed it to twice a week at totally illogical hours. And we only got it about three or four years late... ...but I well remember watching the very first episode all those years ago. No idea what has happened for years, but yes, Mo is funny, well she was last time I saw it. As for Dot? People do not live forever, do they.
I am totally hooked - never miss an episode. I know sometimes the storylines are ridiculous but I remain loyal and can't see myself giving up on it, however bad it gets! I get particularly cross when they introduce a dog and it appears in a couple of episodes, then you never see it again! Not like the early days with Roly the standard poodle at the Vic and Ethel's Little Willie - they were very much in evidence. And I can't believe they've killed off Nick Cotton! I'm really hoping that it turns out to be some scam of him and he's just faked his own death. I know he hasn't been in it for years, but there was always the hope he would turn up and plague poor Dot!
What about Willard? Or was it Wellard? What happened to him [although I think it was a bitch that was used. And that little Shih Tzu [I think] that Janine or someone had?
Eastenders is on every night over here. I watch it but haven't a clue who is who and I rather suspect the series we get here is several years behind the UK. The only dog I've seen is a bulldog but have no idea who he belonged to.
You're right - Wellard was in it regularly. Robbie Jackson named him Wellard because he thought he was 'Well 'Ard! They had a storyline about him dying - I can remember Bianca was struggling to find money for the vets. But Janine's Terence (Shih Tzu? Maltese?) kept popping up but then disappeared. Same with Roxy Mitchell's boxer Albert and Ian Beale's basset Chips. I can't remember if they explained what happened to Grant's greyhound Freda. They kept Genghis the Irish Wolfhound in it until the Millers moved. And Betty the Cairn was in it until Pauline was killed off, but I can't remember if they said who had her. I believe the late Wendy Richard owned Betty's sister. As Azz says, there's Lady Di the bulldog who is supposed to be expecting a litter fathered by a stray adopted by the Brannings. And over the years there have been others - dogs and cats - which are in a couple of episodes and then never mentioned again. And I hope you all feel very sorry for me for the sad life I lead.
The storyline was that if they were to breed from her (Lady Di ) all their money troubles would be over., but there was an uproar from individuals/dog rescues ect: about breeding dogs for money, Hence the storyline has now been changed and although she is in whelp its to a beardie cross who got there first, will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
I didn't watch it when Michael got killed, so did she kill him out of self-defence? Or was that a lie? I'm guessing a lie
Janine reached for the knife because Michael was lunging for it himself, he had made it quite clear he was going to kill her and that is why she stabbed him
So she told the truth that's a first for her I was unsure, because right at the end, she said she had been 'getting away with murder'
It won't be the same when Dot goes! So, any guesses why they were so anxious to stop her seeing inside the coffin? I'm really hoping it wasn't really Nick - I'd love to have him come back. The actor was once in a pantomime near where I used to live, and I kick myself that we never got round to seeing it. What a superb pantomime baddie he would make!
I thought there was some kind of insurance scam going on with Nick's 'son' insuring his father's life then with the help of a corrupt funeral director substituting a different body for the funeral pretending to be his father. I thought Dot would look in the coffin and discover a different person to Nick.
I love EastEnders - and think that "son" of Nick should be investigated! Perhaps Nick is in protective custody and the police made up the story of him dying! I don't believe his is dead and def something fishy about that "son"!!
.. two people turned up at the door saying they were police but we don't know for sure that they are. It is easy for somone elderly and in shock to be taken in and to foget to check details of who people are. Charley could be a bent policeman or no policeman at all.
Only ever watched the first episode in 1984/85/86 (cant remember which year it started) but never bothered watching it again
I was expecting Nick to turn up at funeral and say ‘Ello Maa’ can't decide if it’s a scam and if Nick is involved or not.
It's definitely a scam! Spoiler: Story details from last night's second episode Charlie (Nick's son) gave the funeral director a great big wad of cash in last nights second episode! Well, unless that was payment for normal funeral expenses...
