I re-read all the Jane Austen novels constantly. I love detective and mystery stories. Also re-read Dickens and Wilkie Collins.

I've just bought the first volume of the Armistead Maupin series - Tales of the City. I saw him being interviewed on Breakfast TV recently and liked the sound of his books.

nothing wrong with keeping busy and swapping projects. if i try and stick with something for to long without a swap to something else i find i go brain dead. so keep swapping between your projects is actually more productive in my opinion as you properly spend less time staring at it brain dead

I've just finished Ken Follett's Fall of Giants about WW1 and have now started on his Winter of the World about WW2. I try to limit my reading to when I'm in bed at night, if I didn't I'd never get anything else done. I love historical novels and one of my favourite authors is Philippa Gregory. I like Joanne Harris, Jodi Picoult, Hilary Mantel and Anita Shreve and I also have a facination with dictionaries and the meaning and origin of words.

My idea of heaven would be to live in a library with an unlimited supply of books (and wine of course) where I could happily read my life away, oblivious to the world outside.

I'm just starting 'War Dog' - "A story of loyalty in the face of extraordinary adversity, and of the unbreakable bond forged between a man and his best friend." It's about Czech gunner Robert Bozdech and his dog Ant. I think I will cry lots reading this.

I'm reading some free book on my Kindle called "314", it's a thriller/horror. Just finished another freebie book called "The mystery box" which had me well and truly hooked. Finished it within 4 days!

Love anything by James Patterson, Stephen King, and Patricia Cornwell.

That must be frustrating Malka! Have you ever tried books on tape? Or on CD it would be now I suppose - I'm a bit behind the time!

It's not the same as reading, but they can be useful when I'm busy in the kitchen or on a long journey.
