Hi Meg, I hope that you are now well and truly over that horrible infection you had. Yes - stupidity barely covers it does it The police gave us a crime number, but other than that can't do anything really. Next door in the cemetary, a childs grave was violated last Friday with lots of bits and pieces being thrown around and stolen.........I would bet that the same people were responsible, and as there is CCTV on that bit of the cemetary perhaps they will be able to identify the culprits. They need sending to the salt mines
..thank you I am feeling better Sally I find vandalism so infuriating I would make the culprits pay every penny to repair the damage.I bet the police have an idea who it is, in our small towns it is often the same people who repeatedly cause trouble.
Glad you are well on the mend - just wear a mask next time the grandsproglets arrive with germs! Vandalism is just so mindless isn't it, and yes I suspect that the police have a good idea of who they are and where they live, but it's proving it that's the problem. It is such a tiny minority of a small population but they cause untold problems at the weekend. We were unlucky to be the target this time.
I gave my dad a guitar for his special birthday in April. It''s a Hofner Verythin, like he used to play in a band in Limerick when he was young. He loved it and I could have cried at his reaction. I'm so happy.
LS, there is nothing like the feeling of giving that perfect present. I take it that you couldn't wait until April to give it to him then
Glad your Dad liked his guitar, Lucky Star. My son has just bought himself one (no idea what make it is) and is trying to teach himself. I might need to buy myself some earplugs in the future! We've just got back from Lincoln - we took my son to a Record Fair there. It was held at its usual venue, but this time they were also using it for some posh Wedding Fayre thing. I don't think the Wedding people were too impressed at scruffy people with dreads like my son wandering past them to get to the records. It's bitterly cold, and yet Lincoln was as busy as if it was a lovely summer day.
I made a bit of a booboo this morning - my neighbour came in waving a scrap of paper with my rent [3 months in advance] and my share of the last water bill scribbled on it. It is always the same amount so why she writes it out I will never know, but... ...I put the wrong date on the cheque and she did not know until she went into town to pay it in to her bank so she will have to go into town again some time this week to pay it in. For some unknown reason I had written 2/4/14 instead of 2/3/14
Yes, but when she came in [the door was open] she said did I know that the outside lights were on. I think she thought maybe I had left them on all night and she worries about my electricity bills. What she did not know, however, was that I had also left the door unlocked. After Pereg had come round from the seizure she had at around 4am she wanted to go out for a p&p, so I clipped on her tether, switched on the outside lights, unlocked the door to let her out, and opened the louvres on the window so I could see her - my door being at the side and the window in the front, and she goes across the front to her toilet area. So when she came in I closed the door and was so zonked that I not only forgot to switch the lights off but also lock the door - which only has a simple lock on it and the door can be opened from the outside if it is not locked.
But the good thing is that you remembered the important thing which was to let Pereg back in! Bogie once spent so long out in the garden in the middle of the night that I switched the computer on to amuse myself while he was sniffing around. It wasn't until I went back to bed that I remembered he was still outside! Seriously, though, I am sorry that Pereg had another seizure. I hope she and you are both OK.
Anyone got a large brandy? I can deal with dog sick - grandsproglet sick is another matter entirely and it was all over the biggest sofa
I have actually @Bitkin - bought some for new years as it was my dads favourite drink Only managed to get through half a bottle lol
Agggg last summer Barnaby was sick in the lego box I had to wash all the bits of lego.. Thank goodness they are all growing now and we can get through a meal without any bodily fluids being involved
Oh that is not good Sally. Have a large one on me and you might need something deoderising after the clean up job.
Oh lord, lego All those holes and things. Yuk! Yes, it does get easier as they get older doesn't it, this thankfully is a rare occurrence as he normally gets to the loo in time for emergencies such as this. Took him by surprise I think poor chap. Azz, do you mean you drank half the bottle in one go?!! If you were toasting your father then I expect he was smiling down on you.
LS - I have used nearly a whole thingy of Febreze!! Mostly on the undercushions......the covers and things have all had to be scrubbed and then put in the machine. Goodness only knows what colour they will be when they dry.
