What av I missed? I've been busy spreading the word about Breedia Well, working though the back log of photos - but adding the link to the forum in my reply as well, hopefully that will get us a few more members So what have you lot been up to?
I've been "waterless" for the past 24 hours .... only 3 litres of water and 2 two bottles of fizzy something or other between me and dehydration! Yesterday morning found gallons of water pouring out of the "well" where the water meter is located .... turned out to be a 'ole in the main water pipe which needed replacing so the water to the house had to be.turned off. Ah well thought I, if you can't drink water you'll have to drink wine (which is what I did). The "water" blokes arrived just before 7am and I've now got water again. I'm now getting ready to go to town to buy meat for the girls!
I have been up to my elbows in fresh chicken backs which were delivered yesterday evening and dumped in the refrigerator [after Da Booga had nicked one out of the bag which was just put down outside my door...] They are now sorted, individually packed, and in Three Bees on fast freeze. Which is what my hands feel like now! I think that is all I can manage to cope with today!
I've been pressure washing my decking when it's not raining. It had become extremely slippery over the winter this year and I've fallen over on it twice. Trouble is my shed is at the end of the garden so I have to cross the decking to get to all my decorating stuff etc. The first time I fell was quite spectacular, my legs shot up in the air and I landed with an almighty whack flat on my back. The shed keys flew out of my hand and I spent the next 20 minutes searching in the borders looking for them. The second fall was worse because I slipped and twisted catching the back of my ribs on the step. Although I think I'm made of rubber because I didn't do myself any harm, well except my dignity. So I've spent the past two days cleaning up with the pressure washer and weather permitting will be at it for days yet as I have to squeeze it in around everything else.
You've done a great job Azz. I hope your water comes back on soon Barbara. Be careful Shirley, falls are not good! I'm recovering today after having my 7-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old friend together yesterday afternoon. They ate a whole pizza between them, 3 lots of garlic bread each, most of a carrot cake and screamed, giggled and shrieked while dancing around to - yeuck! - One Direction. Listening to that band was the most traumatic part for me!
I hardly day say the words so I will whisper them **after two months I think the latest buider has tracked down the leak in the kitchen and garage ceiling **. One new flat roof and lots of theories later it appears to be due to leaking cladding under the landing window. I was up all last night with Chloe who appears to have had a reaction to some food I gave her (she has a varied diet of mostly fresh food with the occasional bit of kibble). Within moments of eating it she was chewing her feet and was agitated and couldn't settle all night . She is sleeping peacefully now .
I'll whisper Meg - that sounds positive, fingers crossed .... Sorry to hear about Chloe, I hope she will be okay now. I just made cheesy veggie muffins for Michael and I cannot resist them. I wanted to lose a few pounds too!
Wet and miserable here, so today's walk was yet another muddy, wet, affair. Visiting the parents tomorrow. But have been having a few issues with my car. It's struggling to start at random times. Think it might be all this rain we've had and maybe the car is getting damp/cold? I don't know. Just hoping it starts tomorrow!
Woke up to a terrific frost and the bird bath frozen solid. Turned out nice and bright though, so I was able to go for a run and take the dogs out.. Spent most of the day though looking for the car keys which my husband had lost and a memory stick my son had lost! I found them both - in places they told me they had already looked!
I am glad you found them as that means I do not have to go through my linen cupboard looking for them, as that is where most "lost" things are usually found. [Except for a very large, very sharp green knife which never did turn up...]
I once found the phone in the airing cupboard! Most things which go missing end up in Bogie's bed - even things like my husband's hearing aid - he is a hoarder. But he never chews them up. Pepe tends to ';find' things and leave them in the garden. And when those things are my shoes or slippers and it's raining, it's very annoying. I'll go and check Bogie's bed now for the very large and very sharp green knife!
Photos please That sounds awful, fancy having to drink all that wine Btw, I was gonna say, maybe you could put a thread up about what it's like living there? I have been to Budapest a few times, so I'd be very interested Pereg is very lucky! I hope you get some too Oh dear I hope you are ok. An alternative to pressure washing is (pet safe) bleach, we find this actually works a lot better and keeps the slabs a nice colour for longer Thanks Linda! I didn't even know who One Direction were until a few weeks ago Fingers crossed they sort it out this time Meg. Hope Chloe is feeling better today too (we need recent photos of her! ) Hope the car started ok! Could it be the battery? If you go to Halfords they can check it for free for you Haha typical! You should confiscate them Glad the frost cleared... I hate the cold weather
I think that would involve scrubbing and that's too much like hard work, I tried it once and never again. I pressure wash it once a year and it's usually fine but this year with the amount of rain we've had it's just got far too slippery. My decking area is very large with a pond full of fish in it, so I'll stick to plain water, it's time consuming due to the size but it's not exactly hard work.
Been in garden today picking up loads of palm leaves that these high wind are blowing off, plus im helping OH turn our van into camper conversion so its all systems go.
I am cooking a Nanna lunch for the family tomorrow so I have been busy shopping for food and getting some things done. I like to set the table and prepare the puddings to save time in the morning. I am ready for bed now
I am spitting washers here............last night some low life louts decided that it would be entertaining to try to remove the coping stones from our six foot wall. They succeeded in tipping six of them off, which smashed some of the shrubs as they landed. How on earth they did it is a mystery because they were all put on with super strong cement some six years ago. I am currently trying to dissuade his lordship from getting the gun out
