I just wondered if anyone puts doggy clothes on their dog? I have seen a couple around here - short haired breeds with waterproof jackets. I'm assuming they have, erm, gaps for bodily functions but the dog must need a good aim???
They usually just wrap around the middle Linda - so shouldn't get in the way Some breeds actually need protection in the harsh weather, such as the Mexican Hairless http://www.breedia.com/dogs/mexican-hairless
None of mine wear clothes, they're always on the move so even if wet don't feel the cold, although they do give off steam. Once back in the car they're dry by the time we get home.
Not completely dry but at worst he is a little bit damp underneath if the rain is really heavy. If I put it on him after a bath it draws all the moisture out of his fur and into the fleece.
That sounds great Carole, especially in this weather. Loki takes ages to dry off. They look very smart Tina, practical too..
That has to be the best dog coat I have ever seen .. perhaps it being on the cutest dog has something to do with it
Neither Georgina, nor M'boi before her, have ever worn a coat even when it was -10C outside. In winter Chloe always wears a coat outside because she feels the cold dreadfully and even when she's muffled up in her fleece lined coat she start to shiver and ask to come in after about five minutes. She also has a pretty pink "dressing gown" with yellow chicks on it which when its really cold she wears indoors.
