In all the excitement of posting the professional photos of Zak from the GSD Rescue Scotland fun day, I forgot to say I met this hunk and his owner. Argonne Eico (pet name Riggs). His owner made a beeline for me when she saw Zak, and it was nice to see another WL GSD there and to have a long chat about them. There were actually six or seven dark sable WLs there on the day http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/picturegallery/8165.html He was a great bear of a dog
Ron has bred some exceptional dogs and his affix (Argonne) has been very successful in the working field. He also happens to be a very nice man.
His owner's only "complaint" (but not really) was that he is a huge dog (he has a massive head!) and so not as agile as if he were slightly less well built. He really was lovely, with a fab temperament as well. All the WLs that day had noticeably good temperaments.
WOW! You can't get an idea of the head size, from the pics, but the front legs are a give away... they are massive. loved the early shots. One floppy ear.... Almost. That lovely puppy look, with the chin on the floor!! Gorgeous, and so GSD"ish! thanks Moobli. Still not up to "my Zak" though. Must have been incredible, to see in real life!
The photos on this site might give more of an idea Bryan http://www.saltireschutzhundgroup.yolasite.com/club-training-photos.php
I see what you mean! But what a lovely soft face! Cuddles needed. Also, watched the first video... Dougie & Carmen? They were "a machine..!" Incredible. Thank you!
Yes I did watch some of it, although I try to limit the amount of videos I watch as I am on a download limit on my broadband :-( They certainly were a team. Very impressive work.
He's very handsome with really interesting markings! I had to do a double take because at first I actually thought he was wearing a balaclava-type hood, maybe a batman costume
I know Dougie and was competing at the Nationals when he was, Dougie is famous for very good obedience.
Thanks Smokey. I see he got the highest score, in obedience... No surprise at that? Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
