Havanese puppy - Information needed on the breed. Questions

    Havanese puppy - Information needed on the breed.

    I have a friend who is giving serious thought to getting a havanese puppy next spring. She will be a new dog owner so is trying to thoroughly research the breed. The pup will be a family pet as she has two children aged 13 and 10. Can anybody offer any advice on this breed? Mainly personality and exercise/training requirements. Also what sort of health tests they need.She's not planning to show the pup so looks are irrelevant.
    I'm going to help her find a pup class and will always be at the end of the phone but I've only had border collies so about as much use as a chocolate teapot in helping her specifically with the breed.

    i work with a breeder and 'shower' of this breed....i can ask if u like? :)

    no probs...shes at a show in europe for the next few days,il ask her when she gets back :)
