Blue roan closely followed by a solid black

Is it a coincidence that the gold and red cockers I've seen tend to have light eyes if working strain and darker eyes if show strain? Looking at the KC breed standard it seems to emphasize darker eyes as desirable, and I guess it really wouldn't matter to a working line.

Oh well, my favourite colour would be a light blue roan anyway, closely followed by black and white, then black. The only colour I wouldn't be happy with though is a gold with really light eyes - just a weird personal dislike of light yellow eyes.

Coincidence - all the Gold working strain bar Copper and his mother, that I know of, have darker eyes.
