Its all down to the amount of white like i said earlier more than a 3/4 on either dam or sire will produce a white puppy..funny how most are wanting to use certain stud dogs at the moment sadly there is a high percentage of white boxers.one recent litter 5 whites and two coloured boxers
Thanx pam. Ben was a cute puppy with a gorgeous sold black mask. Here is another old photo as a puppy before my digital camera days. It shows of his markings better. Some white on his chest with paws that look like they have been dipped in the paint pot. No white on his stop or muzzle,no white bib and collar no white socks. Even though he has some white it isn't what I would class as flashy.
Aww he was a wee baby on that pic no he isnt flashy he is a solid..my girl has a small amount of white on her stop but she is a plain but comes from flashy parents same as my boy
I can't say that I have Murf. I've seen a few flashy ones with longer stockings rather than socks. These tend to be longer on the front legs. I know the standard doesn't allow more than a 1/3 white markings for flashy. It's hard to say what more than third would resemble. Iv'e never seen white encroach on the back area apart from the collar unless on a white dog.
Has someone been a bit slap-dash with the white paint whilst decorating It's first time Iv'e seen white distributed on the body like that. Nice dog
My old show girl daisie had a full white collar that came under her neck and carried on into her chest.she also had a white muzzle and white blaze.although she this she still wasnt classed as a 1/3rd white lol.will find a pic of her
Helen i wasnt meaning its sad whites are being born.it was a tad sarcastic towards breeders who are trying their best to produce the ultimum boxer and they are getting more whites than coloured! I love white boxers and have owned one
Is it common for breeders to euthanise white pups? I only ask because my neighbour recently bought a beautiful brindle pup and was given a white sibling as a freebie. The breeder told her that normally all her white pups are pts but the vet had refused to euthanise this one as it was perfectly healthy. I know the breeder is very well known, but as I know nothing about boxers it made me wonder if this was commonplace.
It's unusual for a breeder to give a puppy away when it would otherwise command a substantial price . No it's not common for breeders to euthanise white pups, white puppies are as sort after as their coloured siblings.
I too would be interested in who the breeder was/is. In this day and age where Germany now accepts Whites and allows them to be shown in breed classes, it is a very outdated attitude!
