Unfortunately only ONE of the many photos we took of Zak arriving has turned out - all the others are too blurry to share! Anyway, here he is! in the snow!!! Yes, I was worried for a little while this morning that the pet courier may not make it, if the snow continued! Anyway - he is an absolute star! I don't think he has ever been in the deep, dark countryside, has never been up close and personal with two very lively and excited children, and probably hasn't ever seen a collie, but he took it all in his stride - and after a very long journey too! The indoor gang met him first and after a bit of sniffing and posturing by them all was fine. He met some of the working gang and enjoyed a good play session with Nap He wolfed down his tea and was then looking for more. So not at all fazed then! He had a play in the garden and came in and out of the house. Clearly he has never been in a house before and found everything absolutely fascinating - especially the two very giggly, excited boys Nothing scared him though, although he was cautious around the TV He seems a really confident and stable lad. Love him already! He is now tucked up in his kennel/run and I will let him out once more for a run about and the toilet before tucking him up for the night. I wish he could come straight into the house, but we have agreed it will be better to integrate him slowly as everything is so new to him. Hopefully I will get some better pics tomorrow.
Thanks everyone. He settled really well last night and we have been out for a couple of walks this morning. His recall training is going to be started in earnest this afternoon LOL. He doesn't run off, but likes to remain just out of reach! He is a lovely pup though Will add the new photos to the photo section in a mo. LOL CC - I was quite keen on Otto, until a German chap told me that I might want to rethink, as Otto in Germany is used as slang for what we would term "a wally" in the UK ;-) Now, a wally he definitely isn't LOL. Zak was chosen on a family vote, and everyone is happy with it. He is already responding to it as well
Saw the other pic of him first that you posted with Ben but he sounds just perfect. Totally laid back and unfazed by it all. I'm sure he'll have his paws well and truly under table in no time. He is soooooooo gorgeous xx
