Well after chopping and changing my mind several times over the past few months (my dad always called me a flibberty gibbit" ) I have decided finally to go with my gut instinct and to get a working line shepherd The dog in question is an 8 month old cracker who I am going to call Ralph (after the most handsome police dog in Scotland ). He has been well socialised and has had a bit of basic training. I couldn't do justice to an 8 week old pup just now and it wouldn't be fair on Flame, but my intention (at the moment) is for Ralph to come up to Scotland in a couple of weeks and to start life in one of our new kennel/runs and gradually integrate him into the household pack. He is used to a kennel/run situation, so I am happy he will settle fairly quickly, and once I know he is fine with the children, that he won't pester Flame and that Yogi won't try to bully him constantly then he will begin housetraining and move indoors. Will post pics in the photo section. I am pretty excited it has to be said
Immediate future plans are for Ralph to become another active member of my pack - brush up on his basic obedience, start him doing bits of tracking and searching and then who knows ... we will see Thanks. I am very excited. Has your boyfriend's family got their pup yet? Any pics?
Yes, shes lovely Here are a couple, am off to see her again today with Kestral this time so will take some more.
Really pleased for you Kirsty...I think you will notice a real difference with a Working Line. What lines is he from? Be nice to know if he's got any similar to what we have. All the best with him
