Hi. Inspired by someone looking at GSDs, I've decided to ask all that either own, or have owned GSDs to post a picture (preferably a side shot of them standing - not necessarily stacked) of their dog and what lines they are (so German, English, or European). Thank you (hopefully )
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=515728 I do not have any pics of him stacked really apart from a shot that appeared in a Sieger Supplement some years ago. His pedigree is as it is, German working lines
Just realised I don't have any proper side shots lol. These are the best I can do, Ranger aged 5 months, and I have no idea of his lines, but I'm presuming from his 'pedigree' that he's English lines
Should be very interesting - although I don't have any stacked photos as such, but will do my best ;-) Mix of English and German showline English obedience line West German showline As a youngster At about 18 months old I think And my two current dogs together - Yogi (WG showline at the back) and Flame (English obedience line at the front).
English obedience lines: Assuming English obedience line also, because owner/breeder competed in obedience with this dog (many moons ago!) and bred for purpose. No pedigree so no confirmation of such. Don't have any side on's of any of the others, but will try and find one of Cassie to scan as she was working line.
This is the only dog I had the pedigree for - she was German / English lines (sire was Gottesland Fanto I think) I don`t have any good photos though
My one and only Jerry Lee (European Working Lines) Moby Gardefense (Dutch and German Working Lines) Projays India (German Working Lines) Not a great pic...old camera My old showline Shepherd now 12yrs Dont know lines as I rescued her from a well known show breeder in this country and she wouldn't give me the papers (Roughly 9-10yrs in this pic) I have other dogs but cannot find any stand photos of them...I will have to get my camera out
Zara over the years and sje is from German showline Here is one that was taken when she was about 2/3 years
What a fab thread.... Hopefully I can try and understand the differences in the lines now! Lovely dogs everyone!
Kofi is a mix of German and Belgium working lines Taken a few months ago now so he is about 18 months old here (he seems to be sitting in all the recent ones..lol) Shilah is a rescue, so don't know if it's show or pet lines...but didn't want to leave him out..
Zandi Korean/German aged 6 1/2 yrs (100% pure WG showline) Alfe now deceased at approx 3 yrs 3/4 WG showline 1/4 English Germanic I will have a look for others
Sorry no side ways on for this dog Storm Dutch/German showline aged 9 yrs very high prey & defense drives with low threshold, very bold would work all day completed a track the morn he was pts with ruptured spleenic tumor - deffinately not for a novice owner
Hi, this is Diesel, he's just twelve months now so will prob fill out a bit more. West German Showlines (info courtesy of Smokeybear ;-) ) Ooh, almost forgot - he is from Kazeti
Hmm hmm, I think you will find it was courtesy of me first ;-) Diesel looks great If he is anything like Yogi he won't fill out and look properly mature until he is around 3 years.
Oh sh!t, sorry about that Kirsty!!! Hahaha! I do apologise for that Did Yogi continue growing in height after 12 months? xx
haha I forgive you No, Yogi didn't get any taller after about 12 months, but only really started to fill out at around 3 years and he had a very fluffy puppy type coat until he was about 12 months or so and then it started to get silkier as he got older. Diesel's coat looks quite silky now though. He looks great
