I loved looking at all the pictures of the BC's in the best collie thread so thought I would start a GSD one... Shilah can be a contender in the looks stakes but is somewhat lacking in the brains department as he is a bit 'speshul' Kofi has both the brains and the looks... Can anyone compete? ;-)
Zena is also a contender in the looks stakes, but she's also a smart a*se, super intelligent, bold as brass, playful, with a cheeky side and a great s.o.h. Oh I'm going to really enjoy this thread, all my fave's in one place!
I thought the very same, especially when I saw your 3rd pic there, and yet again, a shepherd with a ball in it's gob - just wouldn't be the same without would they!!! or even just waiting for it! This has got to be my favourite 6 months old here! Hey, we stand a chance of winning this with just the two of us!!!
Who has the best GSD? We all do! There`s something about a german shepherd..... It gets into your soul. I don`t know if it`s the total devotion or the sheer glee at showing you up, but they are in a class of their own. Anyway - my best girl... jumpin` posin` doin` an impression of a hippo and my best boy peepin` bein` nosey lookin` at me!
Not sure if Casper counts, he's a bit of a faulty GSD..wrong colour, not much going on between his ears, a bit of a wuss.. But hey, I love 'im! Kofi would definately be way up there on my list of what a GSD should be though. A very gorgeous looking dog, the brains, the enthusiasm, definately sums up the breed perfectly!
Boo! My connection is too slow today to view any of the photos or to post my own :-( Will try again later.
Best GSD ? Does not compute. That is not logical captain. The one sitting up is quite energetic and has more drive than most of the GSD's I've met, and I love that about him, but I couldn't pick from these three as they're all great in their different ways.
all beautiful dogs been trying to find pics of the GSD's my grandparents used to breed and failed miserably (the kennel name was kemorova/komorova - not sure on spelling!) as they stopped breeding around 15 years ago now.
Oh lovely, lovely, looooooooooovely, and look what a clever girl Sadie is with all her trophies there! Sorry you can't upload yours though Kirsty shame you can't enter the beautiful Flame and Yogi!!! Might as well throw old Georgieboy into the mix here, in his prime of course and he can do goofy too! Just like yoda, he was and still is THE gentlest gsd ever!
My first GSD, Sheila: she was amazingly intelligent. My soul dog. then Lucy, a holy terror! Big, black, and bolshie! she mellowed eventually and along came Holly - the sweetest dog I ever owned she went everywhere with me. Here she is in France and she was joined for a short (all too short) time by an old girl whose daddy had passed away. This is Sheba - such a great character. Demanded tea and biscuits at 8 pm every night. so many wonderful dogs...
If every GSD owner doesn't answer I do there's something wrong with them. Whether they are long or standard coated, English or Germanic, sable, black & tan or white show line or working line I'm sure we all consider ours are best. I can list the faults in construction, movement, intellegence & temperament of my two but they are still the best in the world.
Hahaha I love that last picture of Anton. All lovely piccies, thanks for contributing. Casper is definitely my favourite white shepherd.
