Following Azz's sticky on this section, I thought I would post for some ideas. I am currently researching a 4th dog (this one will be a pup) to arrive in 2013 so be cool to get some feedback and ideas Whether you have had dogs previously Yes. Owned dogs from age 6, and had "own dog as adult" 5 years ago". Not had a break in ownership Your circumstances - do you work etc? Yes, I work part time (around 6 hours a day. Provisions would of course be made for pup (be it day care, or someone popping in half way through How much time you have for exercise 2.5 hours ish per day. Plus training/games. Whether you have children, other pets etc Yes, have one Child, three other dogs, and 2 cats what characteristics you are looking for Good family pet, but with enough brains for me to dabble in dog sports. Intelligence is a must, but needs a switch off button What breeds you have already looked at and your thoughts on them Shetland Sheepdog. I decided I wasnt as "turned on" by them as I am with Rough Collies (and I dont want another Rough LOL) Working Cocker/Springer. Will be nuts, but thats fine, hopefully have enough brain cells for me to do stuff, yet still be a good family dog Anything else you think might be relevant or important I am looking for a medium (ish) sized breed (no bigger than a Cocker, no smaller than a Sheltie. Would prefer some coat, dont mind grooming. Suggestions?
But i guess i am really biaised and can not believe how well we have coped and adjusted to go from none to two dogs in 4 months and for them to be so great!
