Has anyone heard of this? And is it real? I'm thinking not but you never know. Seeing another thread, and after seeing some timber wolves at the weekend it got me remembering about the name that my friend said her dog was a while ago, she said it was a timber husky and the result of a Timber wolf cross Husky, but when looking at her dog it looked more like a GSD cross, and since then I've never heard the name, but a search has brought up ads for this cross. Heres one. What do you think though, fact or fiction?
who knows? A lot of people are cashing in on the whole wolf dog thing and may tell porkies!!! The bit about they have to be collected by 8 weeks is worrying though. I would have thought AT 8 weeks not before.
yip thing is you would have to take their word for it,as 5th generation would be hard to prove! im guessing husky mutts lol the 8 week thing is because of the old way of thinking that hybrids of wolf need taking away early to bond not only is that absurd but even if it was 5th generation its a dog!!!
Hmm...looking at the pictures, It would be very hard to prove any wolf blood!.....and the pictures they have up - if one is meant to be the husky dad that is very worrying! ...and another
Well with that advert I can see two adult dogs, this one, small_Wolf-Hybrid-Pups-871 by Charlie Jade., on Flickr Which I'm assuming is the mum who is a fifth generation 'timber wolf' And this one, the Husky dad, small_Wolf-Hybrid-Pups-1432 by Charlie Jade., on Flickr Now the dad I can believe what they say.... (although tbh I don't know a lot about husky's) I also looked at when they must be collected too and was a bit concerned. I'm guessing more Husky then anything the thing is the second I saw my friends dog I thought GSD, and so did a few others who saw it, but I suppose you see what you wanna :? unfornatly though they allowed the aggressive behaviour in that dog as she had wolf in her Can't find that add, but I do wonder how much wolf is in so many of these crosses. Oh and btw the title was meant to say timber husky
hmm.... dad doesnt look a very well bred sibe(looks more like an n.i).....and mum looks like a h-h-huskamute to me lol.
Aww, she's lovely, but def not a wolf lol. As for the pics relating to the ad, just how ignorant does one have to be, before they believe that is a wolf?
Wolf hybrids my but, the mother has a pink patch on her nose, the wrong markings and a too short coat. And the father looks like a poor example of a Husky.
You know, I'm glad I have opened this thread! I'd been occasioanlly browsing the old N.I, Utonagon, "Wolf Dog" etc threads and thinking to myself how people can believe there is any wolf in easily 99% of these dogs! Glas it's not just me!!! ;-)
I agree that there is no wolf in either of those animals. This misrepresentation happens a lot in the U.S. of wolfdogs. People claiming they're animals they are something they are not so they can get extra money out of them. Any wolfdog with a considerable amount of wolf in them, will not have pink pads, white nails. Will not be born white, even if they are arctic, arctic pups are born grey and get liter over the next couple of months. They will not be born with white booties, stockings, masks or stars on they're heads. They will not have white tip tails. Tails will not curl. They will not have any rear dew claws. They will not have wide chest but very narrow chests. They're feet will not be small like dogs but very huge. High contents and pures only have one litter a year, the female will only come into heat in Jan. or feb. producing spring pups. The males also will not be able to breed other times of years, they're testicles go back up inside and become very small other times of the year, until breeding season. They will have a V cape and precaudal gland Eyes will not be brown or blue like huskies. The puppies eyes will start out blue but they turn over the next few months. I will add pics at the end of Loki as his eyes changed. At 4 weeks old, they are blue At 6 weeks they appear to be a grey At 3 months they are green At 6 months his are yellow
Hopefully, people will read that post, look at the pics and realise the truth in it...and not just dismiss it as the dogsey lot complaining again.
To me, the mum looks like a piebald husky. She is almost identical to two of my first huskies, purebred sisters called Sky & Chena. (they are the two running right lead and right wheel below) The dad could be a purebred husky also. Mick
