Irish wolfhound question - Do they smell? Questions

I love them but, have only ever met 2 owned by the same lady and they smelt rather strongly of dog.

Do any of you know if wolfhounds are generally a smelly breed?

we get a gorgeous 6 year old girly in at work, i havent noticed that she smells. no more than anyother dog anyway. seeing as they are from the hound group id expect them to have some smell (i say this because when i walked round the hound section at crufts, the majority of them had a doggy smell )

Most hounds smell, Otterhounds are an ahem, acquired aroma..............

Baileys a Wolf hound x and he doesn't overly smell unless he's wet!!!

Don't want to sound rude - but what else did you expect them to smell of?

I met two once and they didn't smell any more than my own..

I've met a couple with their wolfhounds and oh my they smelled real bad - the wolfhounds smelled like roses compared to them!!! Sorry not much use but I didn't get close enough to smell the dogs!
Seriously tho it's probably worth going and having a sniff!! I've met a few otterhounds yeah they smell!

Just as much a smart a.... as Uncle Charlie,sorry!They don't smell any worse than any other breed of rough coated dog but they're so HUGE it's tricky to bath them!

There's a good reason why Hiho chose me to inherit his canine dynasty!Lets hope he left me some money along with his dogs...
