When I looked because I had thought it would be the same the GSD one had lower protein but a higher fat content than the sensitive, don't know if there were other differences.
I have 5 Gsds 4 are fed Arden grange lamb/rice 1 (my youngest) is fed raw they are all doing great on their food
I had a lot of problems with my Gsd diet. She went threw a stage where she refused to eat dry food, don't blame her now after finding out what rubbish is in most of them. She went on a home cooked diet for a while similar to Helena but added dried eggshells for the calcium and brewers yeast and fish oil. She liked that for a while but then was concerned that a lot of the nutrients and amino acids were destroyed by the cooking so tried her on raw which she now has and loves and I feel I am giving her the best food available. My friend occasionally has to feed her and he is a vegetarian, so these times she has a tray of wainwrights which she loves or a tray of nature diet which is a raw complete.
I wondered.....maybe meant natures:menu? They have a 'complete raw' Kodimeg - The Wainwrights and naturediet are both cooked, complete foods, not raw.
My shepherds and collies are all fed CSJ That'll Do, and are all doing well. They also get raw meat 2-3 times a week - beef mince, lamb or chicken.
I feed my girl Fish 4 dogs as she has bad skin condition & this suits her very well. My 2 boys dont like Fish 4 dogs, so they have Barking heads ( bad hair day ), & they devour it.
Not really, except Yogi does seem to scratch less on CSJ (and he also gets their Kronch salmon oil). They all look well, eat with gusto, have healthy coats and skin, bright eyes and plenty of energy. I am more than happy with CSJ.
hmm maybe worth a consideration then as its alot cheaper than arden grange especially the sensitive that there on at the minute
That was one of my considerations when moving over from AG. I have fed CSJ in the past with good results too, so had no problems in trying it again. Certainly worth a look. Of course all food doesn't suit all dogs, but mine seem to be doing well on it.
I've been feeding my 2 boys CSJ lamb & rice gluten free with a handful of sooper dooper on top (higher protein) but they're still very skinny. I tried the AG prestige to improve body condition but no improvement & the nature diet didn't agree with them. I think they run it all off!! As I mentioned on another thread I took a couple of terriers (not mine) to their vet for their boosters and one of them (12y.o) Cairn weighed in at 12.4kg, she'd put on over 7lb in the last year. I wish my boys could do the same!
Your dogs sound like my boy, he never puts weight on and hes pretty skinny, although vet said he is fine so im not too worried. I have the opposite problem with my terrier!
My GSD/Rott wouldn't really put weight on with any kibbles I tried, cementing my decision to switch to raw and I haven't looked back since. Her weight is better and a lot more stable on raw
