I cant think of any other breed that blue is a normal eye colour.. Just curious . Blue eyes grab my attenion ..
I think Blue is a normal eye colour in border collies, australian shepherds and rough collies as well, comes with the merle coat in those breeds I think. I have seen blue eyed Dalmatians as well and there's a blue eyed boxer where we walk as well. But you certainly see blue in Huskies more often than in a lot of other breeds.
I seen a few walled eyed boxers to, merle dogs . But huskies it seems much more normal so to speak.lol
actually they are different..in most of the other breeds its not a 'blue' eye its a lack of pigment with sibes it is a blue eye and shades of, like humans
I met a blue eyed Staffie the other day - the owner was even baffled by it as both parents were brown eyed. In horses it's called a wall eye (one blue, one brown) lack of pigment I think - as Layla said.
The blue eyes in Huskies are caused by a separate gene for eye colour itself, independent of coat colour. http://abnormality.purpleflowers.net/genetics/eyes.htm Lastly, blue eyes can be inherited as a completely separate gene, unaffected by coat colour. This gene is, however, rare. It is rumoured to occur in the Border Collie, but mainly it's seen in the Siberian Husky. Huskies can have one or both blue eyes, regardless of their main coat colour, ranging in shade from almost white to sky blue. This is particularly striking when seen on black dogs.
Might be a nicer dimension - lets travel Maybe thats why they use huskies as sled dogs - you travel to different dimensions?
There's that handsome lad There's cheek in them baby blues ;-) Like HRH And Arsey Darcy ;-) Just the one 'norty blue' for Jacub. Other's the 'greedy brown' Give Kaos a big hug from me please That made me laugh. I feel like I'm in another dimension with the little imps sometimes Take care. Seoniad.
I do believe that true blue eyes only occurs in huskies (sibs, Alaskan, Labrador) and their mixes. Blue eyes in Boxers, Pit Bulls, and other white coated dogs are due to a lack of pigment, and blue eyes in Merle and double merle are due to the dilution gene that causes merle. not true blue eyes.
