Something shorter-legged so I'm guessing a Bassett Hound? Probably a ridiculous guess but can't think of anything else!

We see a lady with a pedigree Rottweiller pup that has a fluffy tail like this one so can't really go by that it seems.

definitely something with short legs! I guess the obvious guess is a staffy, but the dog seems to be mostly rotti with shorter legs, he is very cute!

I dont see a Basset them being a fairly rare dog and you would think it would have more jowl and longer face ..?
In unknown crosses always think the obvious..lol

Oh really! I love Bassetts-we met 2 yesterday-such nice temperaments though very strong-willed.

Well the breeder told them she was expecting pure rotties but looking at the pups her bitch may have been caught by something else ??

I'd have said perhaps Staffie, seems to have that short chunky almost piggy-like shape to him. Lovely boy :)

He's gorgeous, what ever he is. Our local RSPCA had a rottie cross bassett that did look very similar!

He may well be a full Rottie, but with a recessive gene for Dwarfism lurking in the background which has given him the short legs.

I've seen a Chocolate Labrador (pedigree) affected by the same thing.

    Awwwwwwwh! He's adorable!
His build looks so much like our dog it's not even funny...
The stocky little legs and the tank-like body!

    I believe it's a cross with a dachshund:

It would explain the slightly floppier ears, but with the natural rottie colors. The dwarf thing sounds plausible too though :) but it's more fun to guess a different breed :p
Does he show any character traits that are un-rottie-like?
