Yes my post was directed to you, In the space of your 9 posts you have advertised your site (spamming) ,and had the link removed on more than one occasion...we know you have pups, (spamming) so I am sorry, if you are insulted by my observation. Along with the fact you have been rude/condescending to another member of the forum for simply giving their opinion. Hence my referral to reading "posting guidelines" Re= the highlighted, I hope that explains "in person" my "problem" with your intent!! P.S..I cant look at your site, because Admin, keeps removing the link, as you post it. So I will apologize for the " litter " comment, if I read it wrong I know, but thats by the by, the facts are puppies (litter) was brought to the attention of the site, which could be seen as advertising. But from subsequent posts, I take it I am wrong, there is not litter for sale!
I understand you may have read it wrong... I have have NOT at any point bought up puppies somone else did, and there was not reference to a litter either simply pupps? - As i said NONE are for sale, so putting my site up would be of no benefit for me despite your cynicism....I was in fact doing it for others who were reading the thread I posted my site because my breeds health was questioned, in fact it was not just questioned it was stated as a fact that they were not healthy. I am i not in my rights to correct incorrect information by using the information on my website?! .... Unless of course admin are happy to have members stating incorrect information as fact on the forum specifically about dogs? I always thought forums were a place of edcuation; were people can learn from others, share their knowledge and enjoy, in this case a variety of breeds of dogs. As i have already stated there is little information about the breed available. Making our site, in this case the best option as a link to educate readers about the breed. Which was in fact along the lines of the initial post that stated this thread; requesting information of the various bulldog type/line/strains. Our site also contains pages of information of the health of the breed and its history, giving readers a better insight to the breed rather than the false statements posted on this forum....If it had been completely irrelevant to content on the forum than i would understand your problem but its not, in fact its very relevant. My reference to the other posters poor grasp of the English language is not rude... Its just stating the obvious. If you read it again you will see i was just answering her question. Unless i misread it and her question was in fact a rhetorical question?! If so then that is my mistake...... Like i said her use of the language and grammar makes it hard to understand if that was the case. Jackbox for someone who's own dogs suffer from hip and back problems to the extent you have to out winter clothing on the to go outside, i am surprised you would not be encouraging the health screening and testing of any dog regardless of the breed aswel as the promotion and education. I have no interest in pussy footing around people, particularly when it involves the slander of a breed that we have dedicated our lives to. I am not on this forum to be rude or condescending, so i apologise if my bluntness has be interpreted in that way, that was not my intention. Jessica
As an onlooker i personally can't see any problem with Lonsdale putting a link up to her website as the original title of this thread is , Bulldogs....How many breeds/types of bulldogs are there? I would imagine most people log on to the majority of forums to learn, give advice or their own opinions so all Lonsdale has offered is her knowledge of her choosen breed as that was the original question asked. As for advertising pups i have had a good look at her website and i can see no mention of pups for sale and £'s so in my opinion what's the problem? To be honest i think she is doing a great job in the early days of her breeding programme and can only be praised for her attitude towards her breed....Cheers..Ian.
i have to say i love bulldogs (will type british, even though theyre not meant to have that word before their name) i have loved them from and early age and are definately on my wish list. i know there are alot of "badduns" out there with a lot of health problems, and some with horrible bowed legs but i must admit i have found some good breeders who seem genuinely bothered about the health of their breed. i have started to see young bulldogs that look quite nice, straighter front legs, and their noses arent as squashed, also alot of litters are now being born self whelped rather than c sections so surely people are starting to change the breed for the better.
i have been reading this thread since the first post, but since my knowledge on bulldogs is limited, i didnt post but kept coming in to read coz i like to learn about the different breeds. I see no problem with Lonsdale posting a link to her site, and i think it is quite ridiculous that the link was taken off... thankfully, i got to read it before it was deleted, and it has some excellent information, and is a useful link for those wishing to learn more about these dogs. As for some of the comments made towards these dogs, they were quite frankly horrible... i dont see why others are allowed to make such comments but then when she posts back, she is made out to be the rude one! Always the same on here
What a delightful bunch you are - I will take my spamming of my imaginary puppies for sale elsewhere.... What amazes me is throughout all of this i have had not had one single message from Admin regarding their issues... I was simply answering a members questions and supplying information on a breed i have studied and owned for years. to be accused of advertising puppies, being rude condescending and spamming?! Thank you to all that have been supportive and said kind words - Its much appreciated.
I guess Lonsdales link to her site was removed because its against the rules to post them - just the same as it would have been removed if it was another memeber? You can link to your website on your profile though, if its that important that members see it!
That's true, but its part of terms of service, Is it just the removal of this link you think is ridiculous, or all links that get removed. There is a place for links to individuals sites, its on your profile, not on threads..it is seen as spamming, and spamming is against the rules! Just as a matter of interest, whats the mean score (hips) for the LB??
Looking at the exif data in many of the photos claimed to be of "ancestors," (old photos clearly visible) they strangely seem to have been taken in the last few years, or a few more. Given the "breed" was "created" in 1971, I would have thought over 40 years of this careful selection and breeding would have by now, created dogs that at least look similar, which to me at least, seems not to be the case.
I've alsobeen following this thread, as like others I've an interest in learning about the different bulldog types. I like the look of the alapahas, but haven't met any, same with the gargoil dogs. I can't see the issue with lonsdale posting a link to her site, if there're no pups for sale, then what's she supposed to be advertising? She's of course going to advertise her breed, that's what I'd expect a breed enthusiast to do. I've got a strong, and rather unpleasant suspition that if she was someone you were in agreement with, accusing her of spamming, wouldn't even come into the equation. I've got no idea wether she does what she claims or not, what her ethics are etc, as I can't access her site. Hopefuly, she'll come back on here to explain in more depth what her breeding program intails. With that said, I also read the comment aimed at Dawn as being a dig. If that was not how it was meant, then fair enough.
Taken from the "posting guidelines. Its not personal, admin removed her link to her personal site twice It has breached the no spamming guidelines. There is a place to put your personal website, on your profile!!
Its not a "rule" for her Tazer, its the same for everyone. There is nothing stopping her putting her link in her profile.
