well you do i'm afraid, not that it bothers me, at my age I have very broad shoulders! After all, if you stick your head above the parapet, you should expect to receive some flak!

My dogs are lovely, so I am sure are your's - not sure whether I have ever seen pix of them, but you know I feel about czechies et al!

Can I just ask why on earth you think ANYONE is jealous of you and/or your dogs?

It seems to me that you have a very odd and over inflated view of the dogs you have owned.

Dogs is dogs-----some are more difficult than others but TBH it seems to me that from all your ramblings you still seem to think that your dogs are/were 'more' different somehow than anyone elses might be.

That to me shows a lack of understanding on your part.

When you first wrote all this stuff and I read it a year or so ago I wasn't impressed and suggested then that you were kidding yourself about how 'different' the dogs you owned were/are. Having now shared my life with a similar dog I am SURE you are kidding yourself. It might make you feel that you are special in some way that you were able to cope with an entire male who looked similar to a wolf---so if that makes you feel good then carry on kidding yourself. Please stop trying to kid other people because it really isn't working.

rune---fed up with all the c...p!

It's a lovely photo. That's Ben in the foreground? I think he has a bit of a look of Loki about him. Bet you love it when that big hairy tail wags and everything goes flying! Did you say earlier on that he was out of a Blustag - Skye? Whos is she from then?

She is Red Kite and Blustag lines, that's all I know. Yes, when I first laid eyes on Ben your Loki did indeed spring to mind! Although I have to say, although not in front of Ben, your Loki is the more handsome - and I don't say that lightly!

Right, I've got an apology to make. My memory has let me down again - I could have sworn that Hal's scores were 6 and 6, but no, I lied, and I'm terribly shame-faced about it Tupacs so I owe you a massive and very humble apology

    They were actually 4 and 5 :040: :040:

I will scan this document in for you, but this is what the BVA documentation says, just in case for some reason the scanner cocks up: (it's on green paper, so it may not scan very well)

Norberg angle 1 right 1 left
    Sublaxation 1 right 2 left
Cranial acetabular edge 2 right 2 left

giving a total score of 4 right 5 left.

    Not bad eh?

Vaguely. Jan Farringdon - Red Kite - suddenly took her ball away and threw the toys out of the pram. Lyn Sharkey, I am not sure.

LS went on to use her Utonagan dogs to make the ones we don't mention here.

Why would I be jealous - my inbred and unhealthy (according to you) pedigree had a score of 4/4 ;)
    Slightly better methinks!

Sorry guys, have no idea how to make the scanner work. OH says it's not just a question of pressing the scanner button, I have to operate it from the computer and I am far too tired to work that one out, so unless he gets off the sofa and shows me how, it will have to wait until I am at work next week.

Interestingly, the vet attached a compliment slip which says "please find enclosed the hip score for Hal. The score is generally looked at in relation to the breed mean score - for which we do not have data. In general terms though, this would be considered acceptable for most breeds. However, Guide Dogs for the Blind ONLY use dogs with 0 score, as dogs with any volume can throw offspring with poor hip confirmation.

Please say if you have any other questions.

    Regards, Helen."

How many dogs would have a 0 score? I knew of a wolf cross who was 1 and 1 and thought that was amazing.

How many labradors would have a score of 0? If dogs with any volume can throw offspring with poor hip conformation, then no wonder hip dysplasia is so rife. I thought Hal's at 4 and 5 were really good, but apparently not

Thanks, so the name BS is still being used for the pedigrees of the 'breed' we cannot mention, when they come from LS kennels/lines.

I only know of BSD scores and across the 4 Belgian breeds the mean scores ranges from (I think) 9-14. I do know of at least one Malinois with 0:0 and that line consistently throws good hips, rarely over 5. My dog being a belgian cross hasn't been scored but his father was 4:3 if I remember rightly.
