Hi, Iv not been on Dogsey that long. This is probably stupid but here goes. So far, on Dogsey, I have noticed most threads to do with photos etc are answered quite quickly, I started a thread asking if dobe owners had photos to share, this is it in case your wondering...http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=135781 Anyway, the thing is I posted it in the Your Dog Pictures section (yesterday), no replies so far, only now I'm realising, did I not get replies because thats where I'm supposed to post photos of my own dog, not ask others to share? Anyway, I was only able to put two on there, I will add more later. It also got me thinking though, there are hardly any dobes around locally, are they actually that scarce that even a forum this size there is maybe only a few of us Dobe owners here? I realise there may be plenty being shown, but maybe not many in 'pet homes'?
Well - not mine - but one who comes training....He is a rescue. At classes... Sendaway Down stay Searching
Thanks, he looks lovely and like he is thouroughly (sp?) enjoying himself there too. Suppose I'm a bit biased but after owning one just dont know why there arent more lol
I think they are fab dogs - but I don;t get many through classes - this guy has been coming a while (he has dog-dog issues) and I have had a couple of pups, but they are not what I would call a popular breed.
They're quite popular here, I have 3, my friend has 5, someone we sometimes bump into on walks has 3, and we see about 6 or so others from time to time on walks either singles or pairs.
He is fine off lead...and has stayed with me and mine with no issues - but on lead he gets quite stressy - he is getting better - only one situation he is bad in now. NO idea what happened before she had hm, but he was 4 years old when she took him on.
What is it about them? Honestly there is something that makes you want more than one....I think it is stunning to see more than one dobe out on a walk together. Maybe because they are so playful? (I'll need to move to Romford lol)
I dunno really we all started out with one and went back for another fairly soon and then my 3rd is a rehome, my friend with 5 only had one from a pup and all the others are rehomes.
My uncle rescued a Dobe who was going to be PTS if she didnt find a home really soon, for niping the owners young son who pulled her ear! she was a fantastic dog, dont have any pics of her though.
We have a black and tan female and a, is it liver or chocolate? one of those and tan male who only has three legs on our park, we occasionally see another dobie - dog issues - he tried to go for my neighbours AMB I was walking - she was such a softie she didnt even react (well except the look of confusion) So 4 in a part of Sheffield. Not seen one in Mansfield or Notts yet - but I havent lived there long (And I'll be getting one hopefully - in the future )
Not my Dobe, but my friends...He's a wimp and got scared when Axel sneezed, bless him and he's such a winger! These pics were taken by my friend who wouldn't mind me sharing
Rupert used to have a brown (liver, chocolate, whatever it's called) Dobe friend. Really nice dog although a bit of a wimp.
I read they have old english black greyhound in them. That will account for the thievery and fast running round fields then.
Yes its a male I have but if I get another whilst I still have him it will be a female. Just looking through more photos to put up Mumof5, Max looks lovley Keep them coming dobe folk, cant look at too many dobes
