She's my youngest baby - daughter of the marginally lighter chocolate and grand-daughter of the dark chocolate with touches of grey ;-)

I have to say I am really pleased with her - she has done well for me in the ring - although her mother can still pull the occasional trick out the bag and beat her  (which TBH - really depresses me  )

ETA - she's also the (then very much baby) in my Avatar

Her dad is Balrion Weathertop John Barleycorn (2 RCC's or is maybe three now  ) - he is a Rocheby Old Smokey son and AM CH Weathertop El Nino Grandson on his dams side :D

    And thank you :D

John and Saudje yes - my old chocolate girl goes back to the Balrion lines behind her pet breeding - so my past two generations have been going back to try and bring some of those lines in, with the addition of the Rocheby lines and also Weathertop. Whiskey (BWJB) was very much still a youngster when I used him, but I just adored what he was producing - and as an added bonus - he carried chocolate ;-) (although I would have used him anyway :D)

My girl has been tested and doesn't carry yellow - haven't decided whether I am happy about that or not yet

Birmimgham GD and Terrier - mm - not one of my finest days :( definitely one of those I should have stayed in bed

Well it all depends on who's looking.... if you are looking for a Lab that looks like a Lab, than yep, they do,;-)

If you are looking for a Lab that resembles a Lab, maybe not

Just got back from Stafford (gundog day) my:roll: what a lot of fat overweight dogs there was today masquerading as the Labrador Retriever:lol:

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yep isn`t it.

Its a shame those who have a tunnel view on this breed dont actually bother to go and see them in the flesh in the ring, but then that might make them have to reevaluate their preconceived prejudicial view on a dog they want to see as unfit and unable to work!!

arent all show dogs? or am I the only show person that drags un-loved, un-fit, cripples, riddled with health issues around a ring for my own ego?

   yeah - that's me as well then

When I took my yellow girl to Crufts - I actually had to physically restrain her from charging into the ring before her class  and her litter sister is exactly the same

Here she is looking really downtrodden and miserable after qualifying for Crufts with BOB at a Premier Open show

A bit blurred - but here she is being dragged around the ring - ROFLMAO

    Who actually said that?

I don't think anyone would deny that you love your dogs---or think that you dragged them round a ring. If you did they wouldn't win.

Have no idea about health issues in your breed---are there any?

    Gorgeous girl. She is lovely.

I haven't seen a nice looking yellow in the flesh for ages; BYB's tend to churn them out as much as the chocolates around here. :?

    Sigh
I never said any of those things
I said imo many show dogs are overweight
I also said that I had got my hands on show dogs - I also have seen show dogs who have gone to agility training and had to loose weight because they were carrying too much weight

Yes I cannot tell 100% from a photograph if a dog is fat or not, so I am not gonna comment on anyones dogs on here. They look lovely dogs to me
    BUT
imo what show people are used to seeing in many of the breeds is a little too heavy
and I have never said the dogs dont enjoy showing

if you check in many of my posts I have said if people have a hobby that they enjoy doing with their dog - and their individual dog comes first before the hobby, then I have no problem at all with it
