There are breeders wanting to expand the NID gene pool, some of these dogs are being called 'British Timber Dogs'.

Your not the only one who gets confused. Apparently shoshone imported the csv, but the dog that those people are getting is a swh x, how I managed to get those mixed up is beyond me lol.

    Only 1 time, aren't I good lol.

Lol at the song reference. There's another one to add to the playlist me and Tupac seemed to be compiling a while ago.

Linkin Park's New Divide, the title itself, and some of the lyrics are quite fitting for the lookalike factions, though not in a good way.

The timbre dogs are reg with TIDA apparently.

I don't have a problem mixing and matching dogs to creat a certain ''breed'' that people want.
I feel as long as its done ethically (which it often isn't) then whats the difference between a timber dog or whatever and any other type of dog.
After all people breed goldens because people want to buy the look/temperment and as long as its done ethically I see no outcry.

In all the years I have had a Saarloos not one person who has actually met them has said they would have one...

But they all love my big x breed dog though (not a hint of wolfdog in him).;-)

On a well known networking site they even have a list of litters coming up. (NI) Talk about advertising and trying to find buyers, what a dreadful practice!  To think that they would actually stoop that low.:-(

    Oh for god's sake seriously!.

I don't know what I find more sad and angering, that itself, or the fact that I'm no longer in anyway surprized by it.

It really is so pathetic. One "top" breeder has a litter due in a couple weeks followed by another 4wks later I think, then another "top" breeder has several litters planned for next year, should be ashamed of themselves. See below.

One of the other "top" breeders has 4 litters planned next year, talk about living off your dogs.

*Sighs* I'd be more annoyed, but I've just used up the energy I store for getting irritated at people, on exicuting shoulder throws, amongst other things.

But yes, they should be ashamed, but they won't be.

What is the definition of a top breeder? I don't think there are any top breeders around these dogs as the criteria to be a top breeder IMO cannot be met and even if it could be, it isn't, none of the breeders that I know about strive to do anything note worthy ref these dogs. There are some that seem to advertise themselves much better than others but that is about it. No offence to the breeders meant, but that is how it appears, unless I have of course missed something, which I doubt.

Suppose it depends on your definition of "top"..

I define it as..Quality NOT Quantity..
Clearly this person deals in the latter

I totally agree Nes. It makes me sick how these people advertise the dogs, I saw a website today saying how they do well at all levels of obedience and thrive in agility. Do they??? I would love to see the proof.

Sacha has won out of pre beginners, beginners and had a win at novice obedience as well as some places in novice. Torin has has had places at novice obedience. his best being 2nd. Sacha also has had a win and lots of places in agility and has a BH. Nothing to do with the "so called breed" its been bloody hard work and I wish I had seen sense long ago.

I love my dogs and have no intention of ever breeding any of them and never have. I also despise how they advertise them as the perfect dogs and will be kc recognised one day.

It worries me terribly the health problems this type of dogs have. We have many relatives with epilepsy and died young. Thankfully my lot have not had this problem and I hope they never do.

It was a big mistake and I love all my dogs to bits but realise how stupid I was to be conned by it all
