Mini Schnauzer - when will he stop growing! :D

Colin is 4 months and one week old...and 5.5 kgs!

On a walk today he met another mini friend
I presumed she was a pup, but was shocked to find she was 5 years old!! Colin was at least as big as her

just re-read my books and 5.4kg is the small scale of normal for a male mini!

Eeek my colin is going to be a big boy i think!

Does anyone know when they keep growing til?

Im thinking he may be a throw back to the standards! haha

Sounds like he will be a big boy as I'm sure at 4 months old he will still have a fair bit of growing to do! I'm sure most dogs generally slow down at about 1 year old or so but this varies slightly from breed to breed.

wow almost 8 months to grow and already at the size of a small adult! He's going to be massive (for a mini!)

Can any mini owners tell me when your mini stopped growing - or slowed down?

I'm seriously beginning to wonder!! haha

if minis were bred from standards surely there will be some throw backs in there!

(I love him whatever size he'll be :-o)
..but might need a bigger crate
    and bed
    and more food

and we'll need a bigger house!

I have 2 Mini Schnauzers and they are roughly the correct weight/height, but others around me are much heavier bult and stocky.

One of these (Kai) must be about 2-3 inches taller than Leo and probably twice as wide - he could easily be mistaken for a small Standard Schnauzer.

I think Leo stopped growing at around a year old - since then he has just filled out but not grown much, if at all.

My other Mini Schnaizer is a rescued bitch - she is smaller than Leo and looks tiny compared to Kai.
