They'd done none of the cesar stuff.

They'd been following the advice of have the dog on a line and recall him using food as a reward.

They'd also been to socilisation classes but £180 later had made no difference.

They'd been following the same basic training princples for a year. I think thats long enought tbh.

He had scrapped with bitches as well. However even if he hadn't at some point he has to mix with other males.
    Btw mine are all males.

Why was this person not in close contact with other Czech owners? I don't think there are many people in the uk who can say they are true experts- I.e has experience with lots of czechs

Probably because the dog was sold for the wrong reasons to the wrong people.

Have to agree with this, i dont think there are that many good CWD breeders in the UK. They seem to be out numbered by the bad at the min :-(

Don't think its fair to make such a judgement without knowing the situation.

From what Adam has said, these people did not know what they were taking on - the dog was displaying adolescent behaviour that the owners were either not ready for or did not understand.

I have based my observations on my own experience.

ETA - I think there are 3...coming up to 4 breeders in the UK.

thing is... some people would have to admit they werent the only ones with this breed then ;-)

most owners of csv's that have got them for the right reasons like to talk about, meet and if needed help other csv owners...... breeders and owners abroad are very honest and helpfull too.

"Guy wants csv recalling better and something done about the dog aggression (just sounds like pushy youngster to me). I do offer the owner absent training but I think he wants it done while he's there/including him from the start."
I don't see anything wrong with getting a bit of help/guidance in ... Not if that help involves electrocuting the dog mind you.

2 breeders + 1 who has breed. Not heard if a fourth.
You might be right in your statement, but your just assuming. And if the owners has seeked help it shows he is taking responsibility

I suspect it was a Czech cross.
    On a slightly different note-
How did you research and meet the cvs breed with so few in the country?

I have no issues with people asking for help.....I am just assuming - based on my own experiences and what has been said.

They were in contact with the breeder, who advised they take the dog to socilisation classes from puppy onwards and then recomended one to one help when the dog got older/more difficult.

Of course they knew about other csv owners breeders ect in the uk, a quick google tells you that.

I don't know if they went to meet ups with other csv people, never asked.

If e collars were banned I'd find another way to do the same thing, however it be either
    A, harder on the dog
B, less effective which may cost the dog dear at some point.

Meaning e collars are very low stress and other techniques (even reward based) create more stress by exciting the dog to much.

I think thats where I am going wrong with Zeff....I should be shocking him into being less fearful!
How dare I stress him with food rewards!
