i am so excited to meet another GSD called Zephyr This is an ancient photo of a photo so not the best, but my Nonna's dog called Zephyr who was rescued from Edinburgh Cat and Dog Home after being dumped covered in cigarette burns and showing every rib. He grew to be the BEST dog and was a gentle giant who I adored. This is him, he was very similar to Locky !!! we lost him at around age 12, in 1997 and I still think of him !
My Grandad had a Ford Zephyr, I just chose it as it was unusual, not at all common and the only name the bf liked!
Love the 'friends day out' pics!! I'm desperate for a walk like that with lots of sheps but don't know enough in my area
Loving all the pictures - so many gorgeous sheps! Here's my monster - the pain in the bum that is Anton. Back when we had the snow, a few months after he came to live with us - he loved it. A more recent picture of him enjoying the sunshine. Annnd, him being silly. He does love a good roll.
More gorgeous shepherds I wonder if I could be a bit cheeky and ask everyone on here to consider buying "Twenty Wagging Tales" which is an absolutely brilliant read (both tears and laughter) about a couple's year rescuing and rehoming GSDs. Honestly, it is one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read. You can order it from the GSD Rescue Scotland website and a percentage of the proceeds goes directly to the Rescue. Thanks, and I know you won't regret it!
We had 7 shepherds and 1 retriever out on that day ( I'm counting Locky as shepherd). More pics from that walk here. We recently took Lock back to the SSPCA centre to visit the girls who looked after him, they were happy to see him: Got my copy of 20 Wagging Tails, haven't got around to actually reading it yet though my wife loved it.
Oh this is just my favourite thread of all now! All these beauties, on top of which I've got my absolute two fave's all in one place now, i.e. darling Flame and handsome Bailey, but they're ALL my favourites really Swoooooooooon., some fantastic pictures of the best breed ever. We met up with our very first ever gsd's this morning, one was 6 months old and one was a 4 yr old male, and as they came towards us, I just knew in my heart that it would be ok;-) Zena did her stalking up to them, they just stood there and as soon as they got within sniffing distance tails were wagging like mad, then Zena kindly gave her ball up for the puppy! So I had the joy of watching 4 shepherds all running around together playing in the long grass and that's a first for us here! I wish I had an opportunity of meeting up with a whole gang of them like you have MichaelM and Kirsty, that would be just fantastic!
This is a fab thread. I could talk about shepherds, and look at beautiful photos of them all day I just wish I had broadband so the photos would load a bit faster! Michael - it looks as though the staff were very happy to see the lovely Locky back for a visit. How nice. Unfortunately I don't get to meet up with my shepherdy pals as often at this time of year (as we are so busy on the farm) but Yogi gets to see his favourite shep girlfriend at least once a month, so that keeps him happy! Here he is with his beautiful girlfriend, Ellie. They are a perfect match for each other, as they love chasing one another and playing rough! ;-)
Another lovely piccy there Kirsty, she is beautiful isn't she. There's something about watching shepherds together at full play isn't there, and the first time I had ever experienced it was when I met up again with Zena's breeder at the recent obedience show, and we let them both off, she has Zena's sister of course, and they ran, and leaped about and played so beautifully together, it was a joy to watch, in fact, I'd go so far as to say, Zena looked so totally different running alongside her sister, she looked all adult if you know what I mean and even ran differently if you can believe that! Of course, I've never actually seen her running around with even Georgie, coz Georgie doesn't do running anymore, sadly, but to see her with those two this morning was spectacular, and I want more! Here's a couple of my old dogs, the bigger, fluffier one is Tara, she was 15 here, and the shortcoat is Sascha, both now at the Bridge Another old pic of Tara in her prime when we first bought Suzie and here's one of my favourite pics of my darling Cassie, who is now a beautiful angel again at the Bridge and here's another puppy fix, the little ugly ducking Zena, lol she was a weird little gsd puppy, I never thought she'd turn out to be as beautiful as she is now! At least when I get there, I'll have my chance of watching 8 shepherds all playing together, and they'll all be mine! One day!;-)
Wow look at puppy Zena's ears lol bless her what a cutie!! Here are some pics of Zeph with his friend Bo! (really want to find Zeph more shep friends - for my enjoyment really ;-) - Bo is the only one who we used to live nearish but not anymore ) Bo is a very friendly outgoing shep he is so much fun! Bo's lovely big sis Heidi STUNNING sheps everyone, keep em coming
Here are some more pics. Locky (the godfather) at the front of his followers. Where do we sit??? Locky with his coat on to keep his old bones warm. Bear when he was a baby with Ella.
