Okayz I am confused by this advert Breed(s) Huskie & Malamute Husky Cross Pedigree No Price £750 Location Devon Ready Now Number available Dogs 2 & Bitches 2 Parents viewable Yes Injections inc No Age of ad 2 Days. Breeder No Verified member since - 25/03/2007 Description Registered Inuit wolf dog pups, microchipped, wormed with puppy packs. Good family pets good It says Huskie & Malamute/ Huskie Cross so how do they make it a Registered Inuit Wolf Dog???
They will be Inuits, be it Northern or British (at a guess), they will be registered with an independent registry.
Thanks Werewolf so what exactly is a Inuit eg What mix actually makes them one or can it be any mix really lol I am confused now as I thought this cross was a Huskamute
Well, the Northern Inuit is said to be GSD, Mal and Husky. The British started as the NID then was crossed with CWD or the Saarloos. I think the adverts, depending on which kennels they are from do specify which dog the NID has been crossed with.
£ 750 for a mongrel the old saying a fool and his money comes to mind!:? understand the confusion though.... wheres the wolf supposed to come from????
I know, we havent ever paid more than that for a crested infact knock off £150! and our spinone was £100 cheaper than that
Have you guys learned nothing? What confuses you about a pack of lies told by people that breed these dogs? Its normal!
I think all thes crosse breeds shold cost no more then a lurcher tbh, as they are becoming more and more common everyday, and crossbreeds are that, cross breeds, the only difference's I see is that Lurchers are a cross that has been around for a long time and was actually originally breed for a reason, to feed the family, and some are still worked now, so they are not a new craze for dog owners, of course other crosses are just as cheap too, but I see no reason at all why there are some crosses which now seem to be the thing to get, whatever the cost, infact the higher the better!! Ones that are only being bred to look a certain way, well if I ever see one of these dogs that looks like a wolf you could knock me down with a feather, when I see a litter of doodles that don't shed I'll eat my hat!! (ok slighty off topic but still over priced cross breeds). I really think that there should be guide prices set down by officals, that are not involved in any breeds/types that state that no body can charge more then that for a puppy, maybe then that might stop some people breeidng for hte sake of it and charging so much. Well as that went into a bit of a rant, I shall say rant over
ahh well you see im not the sort of person that would be supportive of a rule like you have mentioned coming into place Chaz. Different breeds go for different prices, have different tests, are more popular, ect! All that reflects the price as well as the showing/working lines, KC registeted ect. I know for sure i wouldnt pay a pet cc breeder half the amount i would pay a breeder for a well bred pup from good lines, with the correct health tests. Even with your rule, people are still likely to breed for money, after all if there not doing things right it doesnt matter how much they charge for a pup there making a profit.. let it be £70 or £700, its still a profit. ohh and you may not agree but im not against a decent breeder making a profit from a litter - that he/she has bred ethically and responsibly. As long as it was not the main aim in breeding then i havent a problem. My opinion of course. Not that i'll ever personally be a breeder - I mean christ my mum wont even add me to her affix!!
Well of course different breeds different prices I forgot to put that but maybe also different tiers in the breeds, like health tests increase the value of pups, good results from parents higher then bad ones, titles etc higher price still and all things like that, people will still breed, but then people who like to spend money to say that they have a high value dog would actually be getting the better breed ones, and not cross breeds that are over priced ;-)
The advert if i think im corect is form a very popular site that sells dogs (Obviously i cannot say) you cannot advertise Northern or British Inuit nor can you Csv or saarloos as there is no drop down box to allow this. If you click on crossbreed it gives you two boxes to highlight, this cause a dilema as whatever you tick someone somewhere gets the hump from the advert or gets mistaken. Personally if i wasnt sure i would ring and ask! I did to someone who was advertising gsd cross alsatian pups just to see what they would say. Anyway as for the price pups that i have bred have always been sold for £650. Im sorry but cross or not a lot of time, money and effort has gone into my dogs and when i breed i always breed because i want something for myself. I have already done a calculation on dogsey for all to see and its not leaving me in the black if at all. I do not see why charging someone a reasonable fee for any dog is wrong. If i had a puppy to sell and i advertised it for £375 (half the price) or £650 what kind of people would i get calling? Not to mention people would probobly think there is something wrong with it! they are crosses, fact. Husky, malamute and gsd and some with the saarloos or csv but most breeders will tell you exactly what you are buying, some dont because they insist they are pure, they are going to recognised by the KC etc etc thats the lies, thats the misconception but some of the breeders believe it themselves thats more worrying I have never lied about what i have, what i have sold or what my dogs are. if others choose to do so then on their heads be it, i just get on with what i do to the best of my ability .
Akna you charge more for your babies, than we do for our, pedigree pups, from health tested parents! I know alot goes into breeding dogs, money wise, time wise, love wise ect! But 5plus puppies at £650?? Course your making a profit.. ohh and mum lets one of her babies go for £350 as a 15week old pup, hes in a brilliant home! Its not about how much you charge, its about how hard you vet potential owners!
Well my last litter i only had 2, and that was by c section so er no dont think so. Not only that i see you have chinese crested i dont know much about them but do you have to do health tests? Well seeing as i have crosses i dont have to, bit like lots of unscroupulous breeders dont who have "crosses" but anyways seeing as i do! My hip score works out £45 for the BVA plus £120 - £140 for the xray as the cost of the anesthetic is a lot when your dogs weigh at least 35 - 40 kg each. Eye testing is done every year and is £25 (cheaper than the vet as i use eye clinics). Vaccinations, worming, microchipping of adults (males and females) plus that for puppies too and i give away 8 weeks training at nearly £50 per pup plus swab, scan and trip to vet for the bitch after pups arrive, food (adults and puppies), bags of puppy food (i dont get freebies) not cheap really is it? I coulod not possibley put a cost on my time, all the training, socialisation, working and the free time i give!
