I forgot to reply to this sorry.

My first encounter with an NI was whilst I was still in Uni. I saw two gorgeous dogs outside of Tesco and ran up to their owner to ask about them. Was told of the breed and put it to the back of my mind. Then last year when my partner and I were in a position to get a dog we were at first looking into Samoyeds, Shiba Inu and other Spitz type breeds. Or a Flat Coated Retriever (odd taste I know!). Then I remembered the gorgeous dogs I had seen outside of Tescos that one time and started my research.

I needed a dog that was good with other dogs regardless of the other dogs' size, because of my business. I also wanted a larger breed dog because I've always been a big dog person. I've always wanted a GSD but my parents hated them and my partner wasn't keen on having a GSD in the house. So after looking at our chosen breeds we decided to go for an NI

When we went to see Inka and Kains breeder she said the pups were 700 quid but as the agm was about due the prices of pups would be discussed there, guess what ? the price went up to 750, that was nearly 4 yrs ago, the scottish co ordinator at the time ( and still is ) said nothing of the sort had been discussed :?

On the plus side at least the majority of the dogs seem to have great temperaments. Which is more than could be said when rotties were the 'in' breed in the 80's.

ok..... saarloos are a dog breed with wolf content as are the csv..the saarloos has a higher percentage...but it is all numbers...my csv has 26.6 % wolfblood, but he is a domestic dog breed!!!

saarloos are meant to retain wolfy characteristics and csv's are not meant to..does that help??

Actually the true wolf content of the sarlos is unknown- either way people should not look at the saarloos or the cvd as a 'hybrid'- they are domesticated established breeds and although they retain 'wolf blood' they are many generations from an actual wolf/dog crossing.
