    Any papillion owners out there?

I want a papillion in the (hopefully) near future,
and would love to get to know more about the breed!
    Does anyone here own papillions?
    Share your pictures!
I'd love to see the cuties!

Also, if you have any advice for a soon-to-be papillion owner, please share!

    Thanks!

yay!!! i have a beautiful boy called dennis!! they are a wonderful breed. i must confess i was a terrible small dog snob but have been totally won over!! and their coat does not take as much grooming as i thought!!!!!!
they are VERY playful and VERY active, i will be enrolling my boy in mini agility in the near future, they are also very intelligent so the more stimulation the better!!
they also tend to be a long lived breed with many i hear living till their mid teens at least!
they do tend to be very sensitive to certain vaccines, and be really careful what they are flead and wormed with, they can react and be very ill with some so research is a must!!
but as long as research is done and make sure the right health tests are done they can be such fabulous little dogs big big drama queens though!! mine has screamed and started limping when ive brushed past him too quickly!!as soon as i throw the ball he is magically healed!!!
sorry i didnt mean to go on so long!!!

haha your boy sounds just like mine! definately a boy thing though mylo is a right wimp! the girl isnt as bad, but they are definately more delicate than the crested i think. we have one who has a really sensitive stomach too.
but on the whole they are great little dogs!

I've seen papillons doing agility and they are very quick!
How much exercise do they need, can they go for long walks or is a garden and indoor exercise enough?
I've surprised myself with papillons as I'm not usually a fan of small dogs but after watching some doing agility I've changed my mind although I don't know how they would get on with a golden retriever

oh they can do a couple hours exercise no problem!!!they are descended from spaniels so they are very active and all that ive met LOVE playing with other dogs, they do need stimulation, i would describe them as mini collies. they are so funny!!! massive characters in mini bodies!!!! i have a friend whos partner is training her pap for field trials!!!! i have also seen footage (no joke) of them herding sheep, they are amazingly versatile!! however if you want to look into buying a pup make sure that they test for patella luxation or slippy knee caps, otherwise exercise mite have to be regulated.
there are other breed specific tests but research easily turns them up!!
other than that the only thing that will limit what they will do is how much you want to do with them!!!!
they are difficult to house train and dont have accidents more like on purposes!!! they will also mouth so training as early as possible for that required as well!!
    hope thats helped??
if you want to know anymore just ask here no problems!!!
p.s if you want to know anymore please just message and if anyone disagrees please butt in and give your views!!!! love hearing about other peoples dogs!!!!
    big yay!!
