Crufts GSD BOB Winner not what KC want

The KC (sec)say's this dog is unsound and not what the breed should be like  I think he's exactly what the breed standard should be like

Is that what they call 'English type'? I get so confused with all the different types.

BOB much nicer than they have been of late
Not the best dog I have seen but at least it can stand up properly

I don't know about these things but the one in the top pic still seems to me to have a slope to his back , albeit not as much as the one in the second pic and I do not think it is the way he is standing.

I agree, you can pretty much get even a bad dog to look okay standing, if you use all the right tricks. On the move is where any poor construction shows up. He looks like he is turning his back right foot outwards in that photo. I have to say when reading the breed standard, I don't think many show GSD's match it very well. The KC are getting so much bad press for actually trying to do something about the bad press they got in the first place!

I saw him move, in the flesh so to speak, and his back end was not good IMO.

I only saw him moving online and I have to say that I wasn't impressed with his movement one bit.

Might be the breed standard but neither looks like a 'fit for function' dog to me. Why do they want roached backs? What does it give the dog that a strong 'straight' back doesn't? The roached backs just make me cringe :(
