i second that! also, the comments underneath that i read are all lovely too (not read all of them though).

there are a few nasty ones in there but majority are great !!

just hope it goes to help towards rehoming some of the 35000 staffies that are PTS every year....just because no one wants them

I think to be fair to the people who put in negative responses they all had bad experiences of their dogs being attacked. I have never said that Staffies were more or less dangerous to humans than any other breed but I still don't feel comfortable with off-lead Staffies around my dogs, although it has to be said that where I live there are no off-lead Staffies. One assumes that if they were all as placid and as non-aggressive towards other dogs then there would be more of them free running.:?

Although Staffies are very popular in my area, I don't see many being walked in 'walky' areas. Most seem to be street walked and few are socialised, but that's more to do with the type of people who typically own Staffs round here than Stafford temperament. They are known to be very people oriented dogs, but some will not tolerate other dogs at all, or can be reactive. I would think that most responsible Staffie owners would not necessarily let their dogs run free with dogs they do not know. The reputation Staffies have of being dog aggressive sometimes deters inexperienced owners from socialising their dogs, as they think they could never mix with other dogs at all. I am often wary of Staffs too, but then I am also wary of GSDs and Weimaraners because of meeting several with not so great temperaments. I wouldn't damn a whole breed though just because it's the dog of choice for many chavs!!!
