I have seen some GSDs described as being Silver Sable on the net and it seems to me a gorgeous colour. They seem to be dogs in the US. Is it a rare colour here in the UK and if so why? Also I came across this gorgeous GSD whilst browsing the net: http://chicago.kijiji.com/c-Pets-Do...r-Sable-and-Red-Sable-pups-W0QQAdIdZ140667426
Now I heard something detrimental about these, same as those "blues" but I can't remember what it is??!! I'll think on it! Not for me, this would be the furthest looking from a gsd imagineable, but that's just my opinion! Do you like them then???
Looks like a normal sable to me. Seems to be more of a common colour in working dogs, though there are a few on the show scene. Nice colour, didn't like those particular dogs though.
just look to me like dark drey sables, a perfectly acceptable colour that is most common in working line shepherds. there was a grey sable in send in the dogs. nothing special imo
To a novice like me, not a typical GSD, so to me that is nothing special. Awww but I suppose really they are all special
Found this, if you scroll down the link abit you will see his pic, lovely colour xxxxx http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/classifieds/68881.html
I must have missed this the first time around. I love my black/gold longcoats the best, but do also love the look of the very dark sables. As others have already said, the sable colour is more common in working line GSDs from Europe.
A couple of silver sables in this link. http://www.kerstoneshepherds.net/colors/colors2.htm I also like the black and silver, and the first red sable, gorgeous.
Last litter of silver sables I saw advertised down south the pic of the pup shown looked like it was a dwarf. (it had that foxy look)
