They are great pictures and some stunning dogs are shown - but they all look like dogs to me and could not be mistaken for wolves, except at a distance (but I have only seen wolves on TV so stand to be corrected)

To my eye, some look like the Littlest Hobo (from TV), others like GSD, Collie or Husky-crosses.

Lucky Star's photos show a fantastic looking dog - he has the X-Factor for me:)
I'm sorry to hear about his health problems

I agree with you on what the dogs look like. Many people have commented to me on mine having the appearance of wolves, especially when covered in muck and coming running out of tree's in the woods
My point being 'some' people see it, some don't.

My husband wanted a westie, I am not a fan of little dogs, the only BIG dog he would agree to get was one that looked like a wolf! So I started my search, malamutes and huskies just didn't seem right for us, then I came across NI, and that was the dog for me. When I came across an advert for NI x GSD in my area my luck was in.

We picked him up last Monday, he is just a baby but has a wolfy look about him.

    here he is

I have Lupa, she's almost 7 months. When looking for help with my stubborn husky on forums, I stumbled across these breeds. I researched them for about 3 years before deciding which one to get and where to get it. Ami is by far George's dog, and when it was my turn to pick a dog, I didn't want to get a dog that would look ugly or "stupid" next to Ami (because otherwise I might have been tempted with a Weim...) It always makes me sad to see people at my training place love over the husky in a family, and ignore the other dog...so when I learned that NI are easier to train and better with off leash time (even though Ami's pretty good at off leash time) I thought it would be perfect.

Now we are doing Rally-Obedience (something I never could have done with Ami) and she's just a piece of cake to train compared to Ami. I am hoping to get another NI next year (probably a male...too much estrogen in this house, lol)

I have a 18 month old NI girl and we will be getting another in 4 weeks or so. I grew up with a husky and always loved her to bits but missed being able to let her off the lead and enjoy it. I stubbled on the NI by accident and it was love at first sight! I picked the NI over the Ute as i prefer the shorter coat and lighter colours but also because i read the NI had a more substainable genepool then the Ute.

Here are some pics of my girl:

Huskies can be let off the lead! We have one in our village who is never on a lead except the short walk they have to do along the road to the set aside.

He's only a youngster, but is obedient and loves playing with Hal.

Never say never is my motto!

Most youngsters can be let off when they are still needy...once they grow out of that..then the pups days are probably numbered

Spot on... Young sibes give owners a false sense of security with early recall. Usually refered to as the 'grace period'.

You better be taking care of yourself now.
