i have owned a saarloos cross for two and a half years so if there is anything you would like to ask me about my dog and experiances with this breed of dog.

Geezer, just a question for you. Had you owned this breed before the 2 you have now? Only I can't understand why a good breeder would sell you 2 pups at the same time especially if as owners are saying they are not the easiest of breeds.

Thank you, you said you owned unhealthy pedigree dogs---what were they, were they the usual suspects or were they breeds thought of as generally healthy?

I had GSD's when I was a kid and also one of my own, but I wouldn't have one now because of health issues.

Most health issues don't show up for a while anyway so I would expect young dogs to be reasonably OK.

I like the aloof attitude of the NI crosses and the ones I have met have been nice dogs.

Same here Tupacs2legs :) Especially on a pack walk. After 16 yrs I wish I could just hand out a leaflet  My boy and my love died two years ago. Folks always asked if he was a wolf and then probably thought 'why did the grumpy lady roll her eyes and sigh'

Hope your guys are good :)

In respect of other issues raised in this thread I would never be of the opinion that my guys were in anyway special or better than any other breed. Meeting the breed specific needs can be a challenge but it certainly does not make them special above any other breed :)

Nope. Its all on the CW site as possibly you already know. One was 7 months one a pup. Fortunately the breeder showed good judgement in me and my partner and my dogs have turned out great so far. We are all very happy and my dogs havent eaten any small children wearing red riding hoods etc. Despite the mutterings of some on Dogsey wishing me to "fall flat on my face". No doubt this will now be the subject of the next "attack" *five yawns an outward sigh, 2 inwards and a roll of the eyes*

What I honestly have never understood is that if people find Dogsey such a tiresome place filled with people whose opinions are wrong, why do they stay and continue to participate - particularly in threads where they know they will clash?

Good point Woodstock, and seeing as some call it dogsey doo doo and would like the owner of the other forum they belong to, to sue the pants off Dogsey administrators and mods, does make you wonder why they post on here doesn't it?

Because, and they would never admit it, they enjoy the banter. A good argument is fun:001:
I suppose the other sites can be a bit nice but boring:mrgreen:

Geezer, I am not knocking you or your dogs at all and I genuinely hope things work out for you and your dogs. I am pointing out that a good responsible breeder would not sell 2 pups to a person that has never had experience with this kind of breed. I would say exactly the same if it was a Gsd breeder as they are not an easy breed especially when they get to the teenage years.

    Hi "gang"

common folks Lighten up a bit please

Not everything in life is easy. Like my dogs for instance-some days their easier than others. I like a challenge in life and a bit of conflict doesnt really bother me or many of the others on what you seem to regard as your site.

If you dont want us bad wolfdoggy people to come on then why not request I and others are banned? Alternatively dont have any wolfdoggy threads where "us lot" may actually be interested in giving our opinion- again actually owing the dogs.

The conflict comes, mainly, when your "usual suspects" come on clearly on the ol wind up or another tedious vindictive rant. I aint got a problem responding and I have every right to respond.

The ol "dogsey double standards" exist throughout and I am still waiting for your critique of the "usual suspects" less cheery behaviour.

Im not here to persuade you of anything as many of your minds are clearly already made up. Just to offer an opinion. Apparently I cant even like my dogs anymore or think theyre "special". With this in mind I plan to head home now and beat them to within an inch of their furry, bad breathed lives! (I refer you to Geezers Wolfdog Day Out Blog)

The "dogsey doo doo" stuff is banter-chill out. Its nobodys site not mine or yours.

Lionhound seems to atleast grasped one side of things and clearly is a chilled individual who doesnt take himself as seriously as some of the other haloed KC pedigree mob!

Dont agree with you on the 2 pups stuff-have to agree to differ. Maybe though- its because I feel I and the missus are extra-"special"

    Well the missus is anyway:grin:

    Hi Rune,

Let me just make a bit of a point without the old offence being caused as everyone's a bit "sensitive" and "special" at the mo etc

Ok if your interested to see how my guys mature as they are babies. Why not get in touch and ask occasionally? Alternatively ask others who know and own the breeds?

You may not agree with them but atleast you will see a different point of view and maybe get to visit the dogs. Alternatively visit the breeders in person and make your mind up from a wider perspective. Reading "through the lines" on the internet is valuable in some ways but first you have to find the page:grin:

Rescues are admirable and I would never try to discourage you. You might get an NI in rescue but if its a wolfdog or wolfdog cross your looking for- if there any problems with owners and they go back to the breeders. Receiving the care they deserve until rehoming. The Breeders are sometimes criticised for this and they would be criticized for letting them go to rescue:grin:

Anyway, im off to clean the blood off. Id better be careful as apparently when these dogs reach 2 years old at the stroke of midnight they suddenly develop a thirst for human blood. Particularly silly, inexperienced owners:grin:

Yeah but my collection of words make more sense than your novels that don't actually say anything but do a good job of slagging people off

maybe thats what he is trying to tell us

see now you are one of the usual suspects too

Been reading some other forums and I am seriously worried to find advice from a so called expert more or less telling owners that its ok for a dog to snap (and connect) with someones face because the dog doesnt "respect" the person!!!!!!!!!!Is that what makes them special?? That they are allowed to choose who they snap at??

And also rather worried about dogs with supposed recall bounding up to people and barking at them..then backing off etc..but not actually stopping..

Oh and also gripping people's arms is not a good thing..I am damn sure neither of mine would grip my arm after playing hide and seek..BUT if thats what makes your dog special..then you are welcome to them

    Ok Louise,

It seems obvious to me that romance is not on the cards:grin:

Im not sure what your on about with the snapping at faces but it certainly doesnt relate to my dogs.

On the later two points- misqoutes, learning processes.

Let me make this very clear to you Louise. Do not bring my dogs into your venomous tirade. Do not bring my girlfriend into your venomous tirade. You are not a dog lover.

...err on the point of my girlfriend I think she can speak for herself so its over to Jacqui

Louise, jacqui here, as i am not a member of dogsey this is my only way to reply to your above post.
I am not involved in all this petty squabbling that passes as a dog lovers forum for a number of reasons, however as you have taken it upon yourself to misquote, and very selectively extract parts of a post made on a different website, just to make a point, unfortunately i am involved.
I feel no need to defend either my dogs or myself so i won't, i only ask that you do not use my postings again, any bickering between you and jon is just that between you and jon, it's unfair and now i feel wary about using one of the only websites dedicated to our breed, unfortunately other avenues for gaining advice and support from people more experienced than me with this breed are few, i certainly won't be reading this website again as if this is the norm then your welcome to it.

    I don't beleive I mentioned anyones dogs..nor did I quote anything thanks..

    Oh..tirade???? lol dont think so..
Yes I am a dog lover..and horses, cats and snakes..and pretty much anything else..I don't like hamsters though..or gerbils..scary little things (sorry if that offends anyone)
Why does what I have said above make me a dog hater??? I haven't said anything nasty about the dogs..moreso about the so called expert advice and the mess breeders are making from breeding these dogs..and possibly about the novice ownership of the such breeds..

I'm not sure how you would know?

Many Badly bred Sibes look like NI's and some of the SWHx and the CwDx's look like NIs or BIs...and apparently some Utes are Wolf x's..........and frankly some of the White ones look like GSD's....

I find it very unbelieveable that the people who produce these dogs in the numbers they do are able to keep track or every pup.

Some people are just not happy with the dog going back to the breeder for whatever reason - I was asked about finding a home for an NI type - he is 5 years old - and is on his 3rd home - they guy that has him now got him from someone at the age of 2 and now has to home him on (not by choice) - the original owners did not contact the breeder - and now I doubt anyone has a clue where he was bred.....

I do know what I have done yes..

I have stated information from another forum..never quoted or misquoted..
Yet now you have said these are your dogs..can you clarify why you sit here and praise these dogs and make jokes about them eating you etc when clearly there are issues??

My conscience is very clear thanks..why would it not be?

Why has enough been said? you sit here and talk about this breed and the breeders and advise other people on the dogs but KNOW there are issues?

    THAT beggars beleif..it really does...

I beleive this breed is a ticking time bomb and clearly there is evidence to back that up..
