There is no law about puppy farming "dear" unfortunately its very legal, but doesnt make it right in many peoples eyes. So, you are incorrect, unless a law is being broken, of course a court would side with them if nothing illegal was committed! What is there to "take on" all ANYONE on here (or several other forums) has stated they dont agree with the breeding practices of certain breeders, what cant you understand there? and that these so called "good" breeders knowingly bred from a high hip scoring parent, yet boast about the health of their stock and that they breed from hip scored parents, yeah, just doesnt matter what the score is though, right? I think I know who is morally right there Jon! Now how long have you owned these superior dogs? 7/8mths is it???
Hiya ! Just got back from work. I hope you didn't take offence about the husky remark, I am a huge fan of all northern breeds including huskies, I just happen to think that Mals and the other heavy coats are more attractive. But they are all gorgeous
Puppy farm "Definition: a place where puppies are bred for profit; also called puppy mill." So from this, it doesn't matter if the puppies are well looked after, if they are being bred as a business, for proffit, then it is a puppy farm. If it is true that any breeder bred from a dog with a hipscore of 40 or more, thats disgusting. tHATS ALL i INTEND ON SAYING ON THIS SUBJECT.
I beg to differ Becky. I have never ever in my life been mobbed like I am with Tai, and like I was with Hal. I have attended several dog shows, not always as a participant, with Hal and now Tai, and I would be a wealthy lady from these experiences alone if I had a tenner from everyone who approached me to enquire about my gorgeous dog - both other dog owners and others. When we have entered into Best Crossbreed, or some of the fun classes, the judges always call us in, not necessarily to award us with a rosette, but to enquire about our gorgeous dog and what is he! Whenever we go to the pub ... any pub ... the same thing happens. I am sure your poodles are absolutely gorgeous, I love poodles, and I am sure you get a huge amount of attention also, rightly so, they are fabulous dogs. But ... everyone, or at least most people, will know what they are, they will approach and say "o what beautiful poodles". With wolf dogs, you get doggy people saying "is he a husky?" or "is he a Malamute?" or "is he a GSD?". Frequently, you get people exclaiming "gosh, he looks just like a wolf", and before the ban was lifted we would laugh and say "yes, doesn't he". Now, we can describe more fully Tai's true ancestry. And Hal's too. We have made friends with literally tens and tens of people purely through Hal, and now Tai. People who most likely would never have approached us had we not got him with us. I am not saying that these experiences are unique to wolf dog owners, of course I am not, just that you cannot walk down the street without people coming up to you, cars stopping and asking about the dog. And I just do not believe this would happen so frequently with a non-wolfy looking dog.
On your last point dear. Once again where did I say my dogs were superior? Please find the qoute. If superiority bothers you why not have a chat with Louise about her complex? How long exactly borderdawn should one own one's chosen breed before being allowed to express an opinion? You seem to express lots of opinions-most of them false- having never met a wolfdog or wolfdog crossbreed. seems once again the same rules dont apply. On your first point. I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO TELL ME WHICH BREEDERS ARE "PUPPY FARMERS" Im afraid its not a case of "all anyone has done". You yourself in an earlier post called certain breeders "puppy farmers". The term "puppy farm" has connotations of animal welfare which you and others on here are only too aware. Those connotations come into the bounds of animal welfare and the legalities theirin. So you see Borderdawn, if its not "illegal" then you wont have a problem stating who you believe are "puppy farmers" now will you? Why not take it to court and test how the legal system views your vindictive actions? By the way: are you still in favour of breeding timber wolves with CZW and selling them to the general public? 2 "lucky guesses" eh?
Good girl !! You are learning C&D !! I never found my GSP got much attention at all. But my GSP cross labrador got far more so.
Thank you, at last!!!!!!!!!!!! my opinion counts for nothing, but yours does cos you owned a couple for a very short time and dont even have experience of an adult one living with you. Second highlighted bit, Im still waiting for your "opinion" on breeding several litters from a Czech Wolfdog bitch with a hip score of 40 or more, my dear! Oh, puppy farming may have connotations and stigma's attached to it, but I dont think you will find a post of mine that includes ANYTHING relating to bad welfare practices, in fact "dear" if you take a look back, you will find that I commended CR on his hygeine and well kept kennels, perhaps you werent "in the pack" then though so never saw it dear!
*Sighs inwardly*, should have known that wouldn't have been my last word on it. You and I both know which breeders they're talking about. What they are acussing them of is producing many litters a year for financial gain, which in all honisty, if the breeders in question are a business, then that is what they're doing. After all, the purpose of any business is to make proffit or at the very least break even. If the business is breeding, then the puppies are tools to make money, no matter how well they love or take care of them, they are there to make money, end of. Again, if they or any breeder for that matter breeds from a dog with such a high hipscore then it is disgusting, no matter what breed it is. Hopefully we can now drop this, and talk about something nicer.
Jon, you'll have to excuse me a while, I have to go out just now, Ill get back to you later should you reply. Thanks.
Please see the opinions expressed above...as I said....I did not say that this person had a superiority complex...I said either what was written above could be construed one of 2 ways....as I said in my post. If what is written above is not saying the dog is superior to others then what is it saying? I adore dogs - but there are certain dogs that I 'get' and that 'get' me better than any others. These happen to be border collies - many people cannot understand this and have told me I only have collies as they are good working dogs.....believe me....if you dare to do agility or obedience and choose a BC you are frowned upon by many people who have different breeds as someone who only want to win....so yes - I have been on the recieveing end. How did I deal with it - I expressed my opinion and left other to thiers in the knowledge they were not right. Why continue to entertain opinions from people if you know they are wrong? Take a deep breath and then the high road
Borderdawn, Dawn you are right your opinion counts for nothing with me but not because you have zero experience with wolfdog crosses compared to my 8 months of living with them. Because you are led by a vindictive agenda. You have still not named your "puppy farmers" and never will as you are terrified of the legal ramifications. You realise beyond your seemingly blind venom that to name these people would destroy you and your porkies. Interesting you havent answered the point on the mating of timber wolves with CZW and selling to the general public? These are the actions of your "secret source" are they not? Or have you failed to tell your chums here on Dogsey about that little nugget? Im sure theyl all ask for evidence- maybe I should just askem to let you fill them in. You can discuss any Knockbacks you may have had while your at it eh
Tassle, I liked that post. Love Collies too. I hope you can see, at least, that we can in some ways learn from each other. Even if the dogs are not your cup of tea.
Oh Rachel where did you manage to find those pics never seen that cross before. Don't they look so sad though, perhaps they are not happy with man crossing wolves and dogs.:-(
It was on a goldendoodle site where they were going on about the normal drivel such as hybrid vigour ect I agree they do look very sad.
