nothing to be proud of, this is a dog forum for dog lovers, so the fact that people who own a breed of dog feeel that they cannot discuss their chosen breed on this forum, does not in my opinion make it a very friendly place. also you really must have a problem if you find it nauseating us talking so positevely about our wonderful dogs.
Hi Banji. You will find that some Dogsey members have been around long enough to know why the Ni type folk came here in the first place. On the NI forums they openly said to use Dogsey (then Dogweb) to promote the breed and nothing more and use it as a way to get the breed known, no metion of contributing to the site of course Its no wonder then when many of the"unique/special" dog owners come on here spouting about the "specialness and uniqueness" of these dogs that people will get annoyed, because in 99% of cases its ALL they do, they never contribute to the site at all!
Lol. To get back to the original topic, wolf x pitbull, is another I've read about somewhere. Don't know if it was true or not though.
I love the way you fly to her defence - is there romance in the air? Yes she did tell me that GSDs had recent wolf blood so were therefore wolf crosses. But I`m sure she doesn`t need you to stick up for her!
this is all beyond my comprehension. i cannot believe the level of immaturity on these threads. it is all so unecessary. why cant we just have one thread about wolf crosses that doesnt involve ignorance and childish banter. why do people get so annoyed when all we are doing is appreciating our dogs.
i do not imply they are unique, they are. they are incredibly special as are my other breeds. nobody said better, as far as i know. however as a breed my wolfdog is a better dog than my other breeds of dog. by this i mean overall.better proprtioned as a dog should be, more wolflike in body, which is healthier for the dog. behaviour second to none and emotional intelligence i have never seen in any other breed. this is my opinion, this does not mean you have to attempt to alter my opinion because as i have experienced this, it is not possible. i love all my dogs equally, its just the wolfdog breed is a better dog overall than the other breeds. and a very unique dog.
You may have experienced it in your dog - but what you obviously have not experienced is the intelligence that other people have discovered in thier own dogs. From this post I can either take it that a) you do have a superioirty complex about your dog - or b) you do not have the experience with other dogs or breeds that others have. As a genuine question - Why are other breeds not unique?
Claire, Ill ignore the childish banter as Im sure your actually better than that. The point is-just as I explained. You have also expressed condemnation over the forced breeding of dogs with wolves. Yet your breed, the GSD, was the result of this as little as 70 years ago. Does this make you a bad person? no Does this make you a hypocrite? Not particularly, no All it means is that you have a better understanding of the history of your chosen dog. (and yes theyre "special" too before you all get shirty about the "special" word again). Whether you choose to ignore that history is up to you. Yes the GSD is a dog. And no it is not my belief that wolf behaviours are now shown in GSDs. You were being a bit cheeky about a fair and serious point thats all
Tassle, what is this obsession you have that people with CZW/Saarloos/nis or their crosses feel their dogs are superior? It confounds me that on a so-called "dog-lovers" website a certain "group" of people are not allowed to express admiration for their chosen breed(s) without being accused of having a "superiority complex". Do you think that we go round sticking our noses up at people's dogs? I for one love to see other's dogs. Pedigrees, mongrels the lot. Maybe some people on this website(not you) have a superiority complex about pedigrees?
Thanks Mandy and well done on the SAR stuff. You will, of course, note the 7 question marks in that post to the illustrious Borderdawn. A question behind each-none of which have been answered-fairly predictable
or maybe its a superiority complex about having dogs from good breeders who don't tell lies, import dogs, breed them as soon as they set foot in this country, sell them on to be bred from again and again.. breed x amount of litters at the same time, breed from high hip scores, un helathtested parents....the list goes on.. Yeah I feel superior that my breeder isn't like that..(of course we have said time and time again its not about the dogs..its about the muppets breeding them and making a complete ass of it)
i would buy time and time again from the breeder of my wolfdog, because as yet noone i have met breeding any breed of dog is better than them. the after care they provide and dedication is brilliant for these dogs.
*yawn" Once again the breeders she has never met. But she nevers slags off the dogs or the owners--ahem atleast not EVERY post! Do not fear Louise- I dont feel "inferior" to you in any way. Seems that its ok for you to feel your dogs are superior though eh? mm funny double standards there folks!!
So which breeds have you owned, met breeders of, and had one from to base that opinion? (devils advocate and all ) What aftercare do you speak of? Taking one back? Happens a lot doesnt it in this type of dog, its one of the things that worries me.
Im waiting for some of you good dogsey folk to jump all over Louise now that she feels shes superior! ..im waiting ...im still waiting It seems as per usual the same rules do not apply. Obviously the henous crime of calling one's dog "special" should be attacked with much more vehemence;-) Now on a slightly different tack folks. I have repeatedly asked Borderdawn to explain the names of the breeders she calls "puppy farmers"! She has, as yet, declined. Why doesnt Louise or one of the other usual suspects explain which breeders are "puppy farmers"? Ill tell you why-good Dogsey folk. Because there are laws against slander in this country which protect people and businesses against the nastier elements of society. If Borderdawn and friends are so sure the breeders (they have never met or visited) are "puppy farmers" why not take them head on? Surely no court in the land would side with a "puppy farmer"? No they wouldnt would they. So this begs the question doesnt it..... If people wish to criticise certain aspects of breeding practise this is completely legitimate even if they have only read snipets on a few websites. However, calling breeders "puppy farmers" without the conviction to back it up is obviously a vindictive act. Your thoughts people?
