Quite rellivant to the thread is this.

There is a breeder of cwd crossing them with timber wolves. Why? improving the breed is a void excuse as the cwd is the result of the crossing of the gsd and european wolf, not the timber wolf.

Who is "we"? Is this the Dogsey "Cult" now?

    Dawn,

the last thing I want you to do is "expose" yourself:-o

Youve got a chip on your shoulder I can see a mile high. Thats all- and im interested as to your motivations.

As far as I can see you criticise not just breeders but almost every Saarloos/czw/cross owner who has dared to enter this domain! You call us all "macho". You clearly know nothing of the breed or their owners.

Maybe their ARE some people who are "macho" owners? But I am sure they are in the minority. Just as with staffies and many other similar breeds.

Like I said you, like certain others on this site, have no wish to learn about these dogs only to destroy everything around them- it is a very sad existence.

    Anyway,
Off to bed now- the big guys got a big hill ahead of him tommorrow! Shouldnt be many folk up there- shame as it appeals to my egotistical machismo apparently8)

Rhubarb!! Tell me who knocked me back please, or are you maybe making it up? :002:

I think its fair to say that much dirty washing has been made public and proved dont you, I mean with regard to breeding practices. Do you agree with breeding from bitches with a hip score of 40? and not just once either.

I couldn't agree more. She is a lovely dog who was rescued by her owners from a very poor home. I was merely making the point that it is pretty obvious just looking at any GSD that they are wolf crosses

What !! Where on earth did that one come from !! I sincerely hope you are not accusing me of being cruel ... that is just about as laughable as saying that the moon is made of green cheese!

I have never tried to persuade anyone that my dog is not a dog. What an extraordinary statement to make. My current dog is a husky mal cross with a very small percentage of wolf in his background.

Wolves are indeed magnificent creatures, and so are there direct descendents.

If you saw how extraordinarily well I have raised and looked after all the dogs I have ever owned, you would likely think I am soft in the head ! I've never read such nonsense

A very sensible post Tazer, and I totally agree with you. Even a low percent cross can be unmanageable for many people. Even pure sibes and mals are most certainly not for the average dog owner.

Well Von Stephanitz, the creator of the modern-day GSD, the most popular breed in the UK, sure was one cruel man then.

O lovely, yet another person who thinks I am cruel. And now macho too !! I cannot think of anyone less macho than me.

Look BD, you are one of the people who just "don't get it". That's fine, you are totally entitled to your views ... but you are totally not entitled to describe people who "do get it" as "macho" or "stifling" their pets, thus insinuating they are cruel !

    Very well said m'dear !!

The fact remains is that many moons ago I offered BD the chance to meet up so she could meet my wolfy boy, Hal, now long gone sadly.

She declined ... I wonder why.

Yeah your'e right I dont get it, expoiting and mass production of dogs for the pet market is something I have never "got" Im proud to say.:002:
Yeah must be that too!

I missed that, however what would of been the point? Ive met enough thanks, and Ive never said it was the dogs have I?:002: Its "some" of the owners and breeders I have the problems with, and liars too.:001:

but you will find this in any breed of dog.bad breeding and owners.
even in the border terrier, but noone is complaining to you about your choice of dog.
i really dont understand your personal, and a few others, hate campaign when all our dogs are happy healthy well cared for dogs from contiencious breeders.
if you wouldnt pay that sort of money then good for you, but really caring that much about whether other people do is a bit odd.
i would rather pay £1000 for wolfy cross than £400 for a border terrier. thats my choice and suits me.
i would never disrespect you for your choice of dog.
