that is true. but in the case of the swh i have met are not fearfull of strangers just not that interested in them.but they are a dog breed not a dog/wolf hybrid thats where it becomes a lottery in which traits come out and how.;-)
Agree with that. Even more so if the crossing isn't planned out propperly, and just for example, breeding an unhealth tested gsd with some one's wolf, with out knowing anything of the temperament or history of the wolf, just to make a quick quid. Here's a random thought, why do people who breed high content wolfdogs who claim to be ethical breeders, health test their dogs, but not their wolves. I can imagine that some captive wolf populations will be quite inbred, and we all know that in dogs, high levels of inbreeding can lead to an increase in genetic health defects, so is it so outlandish to asume that the same cannot apply to captive wolf populations. Off topic I know.
If thats what you really think then good luck to you, there is no way on this earth Id want a crossbreed of this type and now way ever on this earth Id pay a stupid amount of money to "adopt" a dog from breeders who mass produce, especially when at least one of their breeding bitches has a score of at least 40!!! Disgusting and irresponsible!! Please explain when I was "knocked back again" Id love to know, there has NEVER and will not be EVER a time when Id want one thanks! I also find it a bit uncomforting that one could want a crossbreed of this type and not love Wolves, a shame really, seeing as most of these dog owners boast how "wolfy" they are, not really at all of course, just dogs being dogs, seems if you keep more than one you have a pack (theoretically correct of course) and normal dog behaviour is seen as wolf like!!
Believe me i don`t need to get over myself, i have nothing to get over myself about. i have 4 great dogs who are great fun to own. i have a great life and family, you have annoyed a lot of people i know and i think you know who they are. you seem to find great pleasure in winding people up,well what ever floats your boat, i will not be replying to any of your posts call me what you like it has no effect on my life whatsoever.
Borderdawn, Once again you are on an off topic rant but to answer your rather inane "questions" despite the fact you havent answered any of mine (as usual)i.e. who were you generalising about in your previous posts?: I didnt say Ididnt love wolves either dear. I just dont wish to be slotted into one of your little categories for generalisation. Please direct me to the post where I "boasted" about how wolfy my dog is. What I have done is explain the lineage and my beliefs on how this affects behaviour. You are of course welcome to disagree. Clearly, from your post, you believe the Saarloos wolfhounds behaviour is the same as any dogs? Why dont you go on the French pedigree sights and get a little more info? How many Saarloos or crosses have you actually met to back up your claims? Again, it sounds as if you have a rather large chip on your shoulder and no real experience to back up your vitriol. If I wanted to learn about Border terriers I would ask someone like yourself who has lived and learnt.Unlike you, I wouldnt cast aspersions having never met one and pour venom on the owners. For someone who claims to have no agenda your behaviour puzzles me.
I will also mention that friends of mine were recently in France doing a month long tour and incorporated a Game fair on 20/21st June, in Chambord. They were talking to a group of people who had Jagd terriers, they used them on Wild Boar, one of these people also had 3 Czech Wolfdogs. In all honesty my friend thought they were GSD crosses but was greatly impressed by the knowledge and passion this man showed for his dogs and the breed. My friend said he was surprised that they hadnt "cottoned onto them" here in the UK as "designer" and "macho image" dogs were on the up, and two names were mentioned, as the two people who have ensured the breed will never be established here, can you guess who they were? There was much more to the conversation which Ill not continue with, but although my friend had absolutely no knowledge of the CsV nor Saarloos (which were also spoke of) he now knows the whole story of crossbreeding and also of Cornelia Keizer and the controversy surrounding her and the dogs she sent here. Weird, eh, the way the world is so small. He promises me pictures, I will post them if I do get any, the CsV's that this guy had were confident and outgoing, he rather liked them but more so the passion the owner had for them and his disgust at what UK breeders had done to them. This is the type of thing that annoys people Geezer, I mean genuine dog people, I cant honestly think of another breed imported here specifically to be expoited and crossbred.
Genetically engineered saarloos. Just think, a hole new direction. You could have ones with green eyes, cats wiskers, tabby stripes and even cloned ones that glow in the dark, like that woman did with her pet beagle.
Borderdawn, I have a couple of friends who once went to Nigeria and heard a story about a pink Rhinocerous and a green elephant mating deep in the serengeti! The resultant offspring is called the Rhinelephant and is available in most good Nigerian pet stores! I am not here to defend or discuss breeders and your political leniancies-start another thread to discuss the same old stuff. Look at the original thread topic and try to calm down a bit. The fact remains- you havent met any of these dogs. Your view is tarnished by your own "unique" agenda. You dont want to learn from owners or breeders. You would rather rabbit on about your "secret sources" or "secret Santas" as I prefer to call them Now off you go and start another thread before this, rather informative one, is blocked
Incidentally my guys are pretty good with our 2 cats. Lola the female cat loves tarting about rubbing herself up against them of an evening. There must be some sort of kinship there
Pathetic, Im telling the truth, shame breeders of these crossbreeds dont do the same! Oh and my secret sources, they tell the truth dont they!
Borderdawn, I honestly havent got a clue what your on about and the only "pathetic" thing here is your continually immature behaviour and seemingly endless venom towards breeders/owners and anyone who has anything to do with Saarloos/czw or their crosses. What interests me is why the vitriol? If anyone cares to look through the older threads here on Dogsey you were very supportive of the breeders you now castigate. Could it be that something has happened to put you "in the huff"? Like a knockback for instance?
My guys think cats are toys to chase. Unless the cat decides to stand its ground, then they crap themselves lol. Storm is quite interesting with rabbits though. If he sees one in the field, he'll chase it, but he won't touch a family friends house rabbit, infact, he walks strait past it as if its not even there.
Or maybe her eyes were opened to some other things..... From what I have heard and seen written by the owner of one of these dogs -if I were a breeder on the continent...or antywhere for that matter I would be seriously concerned.
..or maybe shes just in the huff. I guess well never know eh Tassle Oh hang on a minute my viscous wolfdogs are eating my feet!! Im going to have to handstand my way to safety!
A knockback? PLEASE explain, please do, should be even more entertaining. I was supportive and still am in certain aspects, but I wont ever support what I now know, like breeding from bitches with hip scores of 40 or more to start with.
Some people just dont want to see Tassle, its a shame but its what we now expect. Still, Im waiting for my knockback to be exposed, Im all excited to find out who i must of approached and who turned me down.
